any1 know how to fix it when the screen just goes black when u turn it on? the phone still works coz i was able to play music off it, but nothing comes up on screen. i'd rather not take it back 2 shop (but still in warranty) coz if its replaced i will lose all contacts and everything on the phone. People have suggested charging and leaving it but they havent worked. any suggestions?

make sure the files you have are not corrupted and make sure all files used by phone system (ringtone, wallpaper, theme) is in phone memory.

i think it's required to enter the security setting menu. maybe bluetooth also. the code is generic until you customize it.

take out the media card and see if it solves the problem. if it does, then you have a resetting problem, which means you will have to organize your media card. read previous pages here for more info.

my lcd bogged down after almost 7months of use. after the replacement, sending messages icon, continuously flashes without sending the message. i have to turn it off everytime it happens and that is very disgusting since am very busy with work. its the worst celphone i ever had.

micon, 23 Jul 2008if compared to samsung models, what is it likely to be?Well samsung does have a really nice budget phone, the SGH-J200, which is similar to this one - Nokia 3110 classic (maybe even better). It even supports 3G UMTS, but doesn't have a radio.
It's worth a look if you can get it in your country, unfortunately where I live only one provider offers them, and I don't want to change provider just for one budget phone.

i also have res... moreYou can update phone software in two ways:
- first check your phone ID number (it's on a sticker under the battery), then go to nokia site, and check for new firmware update (you need to type phone ID).
- check your warranty paper, it should have a list of certificated nokia vendors in your country. call one of them and ask for help with firmware update.
Generally reset can be fixed/avoided without firmware updates. Read previous pages here for more info.
