Yes it is perfectly safe to download software updates from Nokia - Europe. I upgraded my software to v5.50 from the same site a long time ago and it is still running flawlessly. now site says "No software available for 3110c" I guess Nokia is trying to make ver 6 available to the customers.... I am waiting very eagerly.

I guess Padayappa is trying to say (262,000 colors that 3110c displays ... which is slightly higher than 256K as mentioned in the specs at GSM Arena. must be a typing error on his part.

I'd say, the 5200, 5300 and the 3110c just sound the same through the headset when the Nokia Headset HS-47 is used. I have just used a 5300 from my cousin and i can't find any difference at all. But the 5300 seemed to pump up stronger volume through the loudspeaker.

this phone is good but file transfer is the problem. anytime i transfer a new track to my phone and update it on my music player, the phone restarts itself and i need to transfer all my files on it again. also the picture size is very small.
i will need a help wit the restart of this phone.

Hey you all! Still remember me? Well you all must have not forgotten me since i am just the only one that got the strangest problem here. And i just want to inform you all that my phone is now working like new. And i really want to thank you all and must do a special mention to the people namely:

RBA because he was the one who helped me a lot. But i'm not saying that the others didn't appear to be much of a help of course i'm like a criminal to do that. Lol. In fact, i'm greatly thankful to all because they really seem to be bothered with my problem in the same way as i do. is it really true that the sound quality of Nokia 3110c is much better than of Nokia 5200 and 5300, eventhough these are music fones? and is it really safe to download the updated software of nokia 3110c from "europe.nokia.com"? thankz

i downloaded the phone's update software from
i did all the right steps but then it told me that my phone isnt supported ..any idea how to fix that ?? and i dont seem to be able to solve the restarting problem although i did all what rba said in that post about the restarting problem :S

ya, we can send sms from pc using pc suite....
even then, its really very easy to type msgs from this phone coz its keypad is just fantastic......even its sound quality is better than nokia 5200 and 5300.....
its a true value for money...

Quality of sound output is extraordinary.
You will get the best output if you put MP3 songs as tones.
Quality of Video is Marvellous,only the soundoutput for the video is not the best, but you cant have everything perfect with a phone with this price ranging.
File transfer facility in bluetooth is fast and good.
It has got 2 GB expandable memory slot,
so you can buy a 2 gb micro sd card and store upto 800 mp3 songs.
The phone doesnt hang if you store the memory card to the fullest.
I feel alll the features comparable with N-series phone.

Pls. organise your files in the appropriate folders then the restart problem would not arise, also the quality of the Mp3 is very good, this is a fantastic phone in this price range.
