@rba / trailer

never really had a problem my phone since v5.01, i bought it 10/2/07. i just encountered the restart problem when i experimented the phone (in my case, music player was root cause) because there were a lot of problem for restart posts. i posted what i did long time ago. until now absolutely no problem. actually i do not use flight mode and i think you can "abuse" it as much as you want. it is actually the same as any other profile with all rf signal off.

as per factory settings, it will only restore it's original state but not the firmware.

as per v6.01, i will wait for it from the nokia site to be safe. = ) a release candidate and stable version is almost likely the same but still i will prefer the stable version.

    Fireball:
    I got the "SIM Card Registration Failed" problem eversince with the 5.50. That's why i upgraded to 6.01 because i thought it was a 5.50 software bug. And guess, v.06.01 is stable unlike 5.50 that sometimes hangs when i load about 356 songs on music player. With v.6.01, hanging prob on music player was gloriously gone.
    RBa:
    I have already took my phone to Nokia Care and i'm posting this using my old 2610. You were totally correct, bulls eye and on the dot! The attendant didn't believe at first about my problem since my "WISE" phone (lol..)again acted normally by the time i took it to Nokia. But when i reasoned out just as you adviced, they took my phone and guess what, you really hit it right! My phone's status is under observation by a technician at Nokia and prompts my consent if i will allow him to use my phone for a week for testing purposes and will contact me if my phone is claimable. So see, you have hit it exactly! Thanks a lot!
    But maybe i would just rejoice if my phone is totally okay.
    Nevertheless, thanks again! Keep helping others!

        @ (PEnh):
        Try browsing the previous posts about restarts. It's already a recurring question. Maybe one of those can solve your problem.

            Another thing, do you have any idea about that "SIM Card Registration Failed" problem? Because i have experienced that problem too about 1 month ago, but it just stopped suddenly disturbing me after 5 days without doing anything to stop it. It just gone away like miracles really.. Do you think abusing the flight mode is the thing that caused it?. Because that's the thing that i have seen in common with me and Trailer1's usage in our phone.. Didn't you find it coinciding?. Because you know, it just made me curious.

              @ fireball:
              It is "Trailer1" who have experienced that right? Well i think the restore factory settings would also reset your firmware to the firmware that is preinstalled in your phone when you buy it, but i'm not sure of that. Hehehe.. Because some said that restore factory settings is a "soft reset" so maybe that's the reason why Trailer1's firmware reflashed to v.05.50 when he/she have already installed v.06.01. But i haven't tried restoring factory settings though, so that's why i'm not sure. But the real strange thing here is that, how come "Trailer1" saw v.06.01 as his/her firmware version when it looks and functions like the v.05.50? That's the thing that i am really confused about..
              And btw, v.06.01 is for me a stable software version because i haven't found any software glitches yet eversince i have upgraded.

                @RBa,

                dude, i just upgraded from 5.5 from nokia site last week. maybe the reason why 6.01 is only available in nokia centers is it is still a beta version or release candidate but not yet the "stable" version. i remember someone posted here that he/she upgraded to 6.01 but reverted to 5.5 when restored to factory settings.

                actually, i didn't see or feel the difference with 5.01 and 5.5 firmware.

                    Thanks Ash, RBa and Viral for a quick response!
                    Hey Ash, i have already changed my SIM Card but the problem is still not solved. Viral, i also tried it but it didn't help. So i guess i would follow the advice of RBa now since it's just alright if i don't have my 3110c in my own hands since i even can't use it if it's with me. Thank you guys for all your help! Good thing there are a lot of experts here. I'll post again if my phone is functioning well already. Thanks again!

                          to, frank,

                          use computer to format memory card.

                          1. use memory card reader.
                          2. right click and format
                          3. type - fat 32 and quick format.
                          4. now your card is formated.
                          5. insert card into phone.
                          6. now you can creat folder and store your personal information.

                          always use computer to format card and also defrag the memory card (specially for 1gb or 2gb)to work perfectly.

                          how to defrag memory card.
                          1. use memory card reader
                          2. right click on removable disk icon
                          3. go to properties - tools - defrag.
                          4. this process help us lot. your memory card will work very fast on the device and it will also solve the problem of restarting.

                              Hi guys! I just bought this 4ne yesterday. Tis working perfectly but I really need some assistance. Got a 128 MB mini SB card supplied by the guy who sold me the 4ne. When I try to use memory card, 4ne tells me it is not formatted. Phone manual instructs me to either go thru Gallery or Applications to be able to 4mat card. But when I get to memory card options, there is nothing like a formatting feature on my 4ne.I eventually end up with the same "MEMORY CARD NOT FORMATTED" stuff. HELP ME GUYS!

                                      @ Trailer1:
                                      It's sad to hear that your phone is still isn't okay. But anyway, try the suggestion of Ash first. And if the problem still persists after you have tried it, try going to Nokia Care again and tell them that the "NO SERVICE" and the "SIM Card Registration Failed" problem that you got is intermittent. And when your phone again would operate normally when you take it to Nokia Care, then tell them that it is just today that it operated normally. And after you do so, they would take your phone for repair and most probably, your phone will be in the "Observatory" status and a Nokia Care technician would use your handset for about a week to put your handset to a test and observe if a problem is going on. And they will just return it preferably on the following week I guess. And actually, if you can just afford to live 2 weeks without your 3110c in your own hands, then do it. Because I guess this would be the only option that stands as your last chance for your phone to operate normally. Good luck..
