i got this fone 3 weeks back it was very cool the best desigen n really cool
but recently i istalled a crickeet game it was cool n i enjoyed playin but recently i dont kno hw but by memorysick ot hanged so i asked few of my frendz who also have gud fones they advieced me 2 format it n i did so but soon i kept getting the infi that the memory stick is coroupted could u please mail n tell me want 2 do i am in real need on ur avice but please mail me please thnx

Ardi,
I experienced the same. Screen went blank with white background. Bring it to Nokia service center and was fixed the next day. Now, no problem except that it is damn slow for a new tech phone.....

Does increasing the mp3 bitrate increase the volume ?
Is there any software from where i can convert standard mp3 to louder sounds ?
what is the best bitrate for 3230 ?

I just bought this phone Nokia 3230 on Sunday 20 November 2005 for my wife from Nokia authorized dealer. She was very happy with the gift.
We charged the battery last night for 10 hours as recommended by the dealer. She only use the phone for less than 10 minutes this morning for my call.
But this afternoon, my wife just called me to inform me that something wrong with the phone. The screen is blank just a colorful dot and black vertical line. Means the phone is spoilt !!!
The funny things are :
1. Authorized dealer did not want to accept
it back for replacement and they asked me
to go to Nokia Service Center.
2. The phone only last for 18 hours !!!
3. No 1-to-1 replacement for the unit even
the phone broke down in less 24 hours !!!
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS !

i find this phone very slow. it hangs all the time and some of my messages go to the Drafts folder even when i thought that the message had already been sent! i think a software upgrade is needed at once :(

now i know..my 3230 supports stereo..sounds excellent..my mother has a 6630..ive compared the sound w/ my 3230...its the same...also the camera

i have noticed that in o2 they have a refurbished 3230, and on the back it says 1.3 not 1.2 megapixils. Maybe in the refurbished one they have got rid of some of the problems. What do you think?

Hi to all friends
I buy nokia 3230 smart phone since 1 month later.
People always compare nokia 3230 and nokia 7610 and they did not decide which phone is better to buy. But I think that nokia 3230 is better than nokia 7610.Those who love to take best picture they have to by 3230 not 7610.
POSITIVE POINTS:
1. N3230 screen display and pixel are sharper and brighter than 7610.
2. It has 1.3 MP cam 7610 cam is only MP.
3. When we take picture on 7610 it seems a VGA cam picture like 6600, only differ is that its take in 1152*864 pixels.
4. Also 3230 take videos with (QCIF).but 7610 cannot.
5. The sounds of 3230 and 7610 are nearly equal
6. 3230 have a smart IRD port but not available in 7610.
7. There is a visual and FM radio but not in 7610.
8. People like 7610 because of only they like there interesting look and design.
NEGATIV POINTS:
1. N7610 sound is little bit louder than 3230 but we can loud 3230 sound by updating firmware.
2. N7610 design is pretty.
3. There is 64 MB card and data cable included in 7610 but 3230 come with only with 32 MB.
You will free from some problems in N3230 if you update firmware.
Therefore 3230 display is clear than SE K750.it is amazing. My brother have SE k750 when I see on his mobile (K750) display it is not look better then 3230 display.

Over all Performance escpecially its EDGe is superb the only worry.. hw can i improve mp3 sound .. how to make it stereo... shall i upgrade it by using third party players .. please help

hey..all 3230 users..listen carefully:i had bought this phone 1 month ago..i support that this is the worse symbian phone made by nokia since 7650 released.
disadvantages are:
1.very bad sound
2.worse mp3 player(terrible)
3.it says 1.2 pixels but camera performance is not even closer to 7610 or 6670.
4.worse casing(sensitive and easily scratchable)
5.beep before ringer makes u crazy.its let u think that if the beep is still there..then what is the need of ringer tones:(
6.old symbian version in new model
7.1000 times bad than 6630..or more:)
suggestion for users:
dont buy it..plz
if u want to consider which 1 u buy..then go for 6630 without wait.
with around $350 u shouldnt buy this mistake released phone.
at last u can ask what about my 3230? well i sale it with $300 (only 11 days used). then bought 6630 phone..and i am verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy pleasedddddddddddddddddddddddd..

one of the worst phones nokia have made. the symbian series have caused nothing but problems for so many users, and the speaker on this phone is terrible. Go for the nokia 6230i, same features, MUCH better speaker, and operates on the original nokia operating system.

I think 6260 also do not provide saving of sms to memory card by nature. But there is a 3rd party software which allow this and has been discussed many round here. msdrivee or something i think.

Came across another feature...
When you send a file to the phone via Bluetooth or Infrared, the file appears as an SMS in any Series 60 phone. By default, the Messaging applet stores everything in the phone memory and not the memory card.
Most Series 60 phones come with an option to store files directly on the memory card, but the Nokia 3230 isn't one of them.
Due to this missing option, even though you can put a 256MB RSMMC card into the phone, you can only receive files that are under 4.5MB, assuming that you don't have anything else stored in the phone memory. ( 1.5 mb for contacts )

I bought nokia 3230, problem is the speaker sound is not so good as compared to sony k700i is there any way to improve the speaker sound,can i download an mp3 player to improve the sound,can i put a 256 mb memory card,i hpoe this will not hang
