To May and to all others. Pls don't ask me to email direct ok.
Ok May, to answer ur questions:
1. Indeed 3230 volume is low. But when set to highest volume, it's still loud actually. Only thing is the sound normally will be a little distorted. Really depends on what type of tone u playing.
2. Music player only play in mono... doesn't matter whether MP3, Midi, wav, or other sound files... like ati2 said it only producing 16kHz mono sound.

I'm think 6670/7610/3230 has got mono 16000 Hz D/A converters like N6600 (same bad sound quality).
But the radio quality is better, because 3230 use different chip for FM (maybe stereo 44.1 kHz).

I have the say the most disappointing thing was the quality of the mp3s when played played on realplayer. It was in mono sound, sounds much worse than a cassette tape. If anyone has any solution do tell me, thanks. Other than that the phone seems ok, the pictures taken are rather clear and the display is amazing.

Here we are trying to help each others with our experience on this fabulous 3230 phone and not for those who are unhappy and keep critizing the phone naively.
I have been using handphone for many years since the days motorola big bottle type. After all these years, I tried many brands and models and eventually go back to nokia phone and up to date, my buddy phone is this 3230. Why? it has all things I expect from a phone-infrared & radio (even 6680/6630/higher end phone does not have this).
The most difficult phone I have used is Motorola and siemens. My goodness, take me a long long time to compose a message. Very stressful, no choice have to use Nokia.

Regarding to your posts, "3230 noob" - Try MsvDriveE to save your stuffs into memory card instead of the normal phone memory & you should send your phone to have a firmware upgrade or etc... well for mine - it doesn't have those symptons...
Ribz: That may be true to certain softwares but fret not... "crackers" itself will never stop producing new cracks to crack even if its a newer firmware :)
nazirx@yahoo.com: Try using a 3rd-party mp3player software instead of its original software... eg. Ultramp3

To people here keep complaining about this 3230 phone and why still keep posting here. You go to try siemens or motorola phone, then you will appreciates nokia much more than you do now. Why? Because Nokia is the most user friendly phone on earth.
It's so amazing that someone can design such a perfect phone of all time. Salute to Him/Her for coming this remarkable 3230.

Can anybody help me with this problem.
The phone randomly displays: Sim Card Registration Failed.
When i restart the phone it works fine for about an hour or so and then again the range is lost and the creepy message appears.
I thought that it might be my 3 yr old sim card so i got it replaced but still after some time the same message appears.
I live in India and my phone is not locked to any operator or so.It worked fine for the first 10-12 days and now this prob is really troubling me.
Any inputs will be really appreciated.
