Hi, I am a new user of symbian os. I've downloaded smartmovie application into my N3230 but it can't open the movie clips which I've in my mmc card. These files are in the .avi format. The error message showed that it can't open the file. Can someone help me with it? Thanks!

Hi Kenny!
This is very generous of you... You are a very kind person to have such *mild* thoughts about *them*...
I! However, on the other end…
I want to get hold of the person who thought of this whole thing about the *Serious/Fun* tagline in their Ad Campaign, get him/her to my room, or preferably to the basement in my country-house and do VERY painful and funny and unmentionable things...Till they start experiencing Serious-Fun in my torture.
A Phone for the YOUTH and without Stereo MP3 Output... This is Sacrilege....
How Cheap can it get!!!
And someone here said “you must have researched”!!!
What was I to research?
That:-
1. If this phone, being launched in 20-Fc#king-05, (in the era where i-pod is GOD’s Personal Gift) boasting of FM Radio and MP3 Player ACTUALLY has STEREO???
a. For FM *AND* for The MP3 Player???
2. If this phone can handle Incoming *AND* Outgoing Calls???
3. If SMS, can be received *AND* sent?
I can go ON and ON and ON, being sarcastic, but the point is, this is a LOUSY Piece to be advertised to and positioned at the YOUTH segment. Even an Old guy like I, (29 Years) enjoy my music. (My neighbours know when I am sleeping- whenever my music is off…:-)
I downloaded 6 Pages about this phone from various sources. I have been checking out the features and all that for the last 2 months…
Guess I did a rather pathetic job. *More Pathetic* than what Nokia did with this Phone.
I did not visit any message boards… Now; I know that I know…
I saved money like crazy to get this phone.
I still am in LOVE with the features and the functionality this Gizmo offers.
However, I am SAD!!!
Ra.
PS. (When you Assume, U make an ASS out of ME and you definitely are one, to be assuming things…)

My future nick would be "Aero" - just to let those who had mistaken him as me... that is - i DO NOT express my love like him and i do help here instead of bragging the loves of his/her phone model ... that's e major difference... hopefully none would use the same new nick s mine.

Fa[Z]illL...:
Better, yes. Much better, may be not. Well I think 6600 firmware is quite stable by now compare to 3230.
May:
Generally speaking 6630 is consider a higher class phone than 3230. It's running OS8 instead of OS7. Its processor's speed is almost doubled. So it's a much faster phone. It has variable zoom up to 6x for the camera unlike 3230 which is having step-zoom. I heard it has stereo sound. Sound level is much higher. But really depend on what u want actually. Coz 6630 is bigger and looks bulky. No infrared and no radio. And no joy-stick! (Hehe)
RS-MMC and RS-DV-MMC -- the DV stands for dual voltage. It means it can run at 3V or 1.8V. Newer phones like 6630 6680 6681 only support 1.8V so they can only accept RS-DV-MMC. The other 60 series phone can use both types.

TC,
Thanks for everything and I will do according to your instruction, copy and paste. If any problems, I will ask again.
I'm a phone addict and frequently change phones and after tried siemens and motorola phone, I appreciates more on nokia (so user friendly and yet so good). My last phone was sonyericsson K750i which I upgraded from 6230i. I assume the phone k750i should be very good but I used it for only a week and decided to go back this beautiful 3230.
Though the review of K750i is good but to me it just a better camera phone and nothing else, depends what you want. For me, 3230 has everything although is does not have stereo output but at least all the features are there. The K750i interface very similar to the old phones like K700, S700, etc.. nothing much to explore. (boring)
3230 got all the latest entertaining softwares like photo editor, dictionary, video editor, 3D java games, etc.. and the built quality-quite heavy but solid. The keypad are little tight that it make to last.
6230i are not too bad but about the same price as 3230, so it is better to get this 3230. Why? the 6230i screen is small, camera though 1.3mp but not very sharp when u upload to the PC (I tried). Sms had its limitation, after a while, need to delete some (3230 unlimited-phone or card memory can be choose).
For the casing, 3230 can be change but it's good to change original housing. I have a friend who change his phone housing to a compatible and need to force it to close and it crack the LCD display (wty void). Not worth it to save a few dollars.
Thanks for reading as I just love my 3230...

For those who are deciding between 3230 and 6630, remember the 6630 has a faster processor, newer OS and 3G capability. It'll be better on the long run but if you change your mobiles often then this one does the job, plus Radio.
I just hate the fact that the 3230's battery is 760 not 900mAh.

Respected Gentlemen,
I'd like to congratulate all of you who have kept this forum up and kicking with excitement as well as valuble information since the day it has started... It is no mean feat to have completed over a 100 pages of discussion without much repatition, which to my knowledge no other phone including 6600 has achieved!!! So keep up the good work and flaunt your 3230 with pride...

Nokia 3230 User:
Wow u r such a great fan of 3230 huh?
Anyway about the stuff in ur DV-RS-MMC, just put it in the card reader, copy everything into ur harddisk. Then switch to ur new card and copy everything in.
Err.. just make sure u have selected all files. Hmm, ok let me just be a bit more detail for the benefit of others who not sure what i'm talking about.
1. Create a folder at the pc
2. Browse ur RS-MMC using card reader using explorer (not the nokia phone browser and not using bluetooth or usb cable coz u can't see system files with that)
3. Press Ctrl + A to select all files
4. Click or select COPY
5. At the folder u created. Click or select PASTE
6. Switch to new RS-MMC
7. At the folder u created. Press Ctrl + A again to select all files.
4. Click or select COPY
8. At ur RS-MMC, click or select PASTE
It's good to keep a copy of everything in ur pc so anytime u can go back to initial stage. :)
