their explanation is not entirely accurate.
they say this phone is a 4 way joystick, when it's supposed to be 5 way.

Sometimes my volume control go crazy also. When this happen, I have to restart the phone. Then can control the level again. Software problem I guess.
The camera is using digital zoom. So when u zoom, definately pic quality drop. No solution I think.
Slow start-up is also typical for all symbian 60 phone I suppose... except those new ones that running 200+Mhz processor?? Anyway, u r not alone definately when it come to "slowness".
I think the noise problem caused by the brightness of screen backlight is a design problem?? Well, could somebody please inform Nokia about it. Too tired to complain to them already.

Still trying to get nice program. I too installed many which is not compatible. But all those written for 6600, 6260, 7610, 6670, 6630 should work. Those written for 3650 or 7650 normally don't.

HI All,
I bought a new 3230 4 days back, nice package in all but few glitches. ( Nothing is perfect in this world !! alas)
I'm having problem regd its volume settings. i.e. sound level remains same when set at level 1 or level 10, only difference is atlevel 0. Anyone else also having the same problem?? or any solutions to it .
And well the camera if using without zoom looks good, but while zooming the image quality goes bad. Also anyone experiencing slownees while the mbile is being switched on.
An yes the noise while the brightness is not 100% is ther in my phone too :( any ideas how to get rid of it whithout 100% brightness

This phone rocks...but when u download a ringtone or a song in this nokia 3230 ii isnt very loud....i cant even hear it..its so low....could anyone tell me any good softwares to put into my nokia 3230...

i changed the display's brightness & heard the buzzing sound.
when i adjusted it to full brightness it became normal again.

Well the current latest version for PhotoRite is v5.1.8. For those who can afford to pay for it, u can check it out at

The one that is available (for free) out there is so far v5.1.6. Anyway, better than nothing.

6230i may be better in many ways but in the end, there's still a big gap between S40 and S60. There will be limitation to the software which 6230i can run. Further more the memory is stuck behind the battery. I guess different ppl have different needs. Nothing is perfect in this world huh.

Right... For those of you in the UK, I have just discovered that you can get the 3230 firmware upgraded for free (if you are a club nokia member and the phone is under warranty). You have to take it to a service point. Just call 08706006012 (Club Nokia) to find your nearest. I'm going to High Wycombe to get mine done at the weekend!

yeah...i'm considering changing my 3230 to a 6230i too. m still holding on to a 6230 and it's been a stable fone so far.
3230...i jus cant accept the picture quality.

i traded my 3230 for 6230i..Belive me friends,6230i is simply brilliant..my 3230 was full of bugs and a dusty screen,,take my advice and change your phone too...take care

Guys i'm having a small request... The application FSCaller is not working for me. This one is used for making the full screen picture of the caller appear on your phone when they ring you. Do any of you guys know any such application which is similar to the above mentioned. I'd be greatful if you helped me out with this.....
