kholio:
As i mentioned earlier, my noise problem was solved when I set the backlight brighness back to 100%. FULL brightness that is. Then no more noise. Give it a try and see if that will solve your noise problem too.

JohnX:
There's a few autolock software out there. Go get it. I'm currently using AutoLock. Simple and nice.
General:
Recently I found something which is bugging me. There's a noise (which sounds like electrical noise from a lousy transformer) coming out of my phone when I call someone. Later I noticed that the noise actually comes out whenever the screen backlight is on. Was scratching my head for 1 whole day and finally I found out the reason. Few days ago I've reduce the screen brightness to about 70% to see if it would save some power. That's when the noise started. The noise disappeared when I put back the brightness to full. Anyone having the same problem/defect?
BTW came across a nice photo taking/editing program by the name PhotoRite. Really good program, lots of functions. Doesn't cause the stupid horizontal compression like the original nokia program. You can choose 1280x960 or 640x480 mode, digital zoom up to 8x, photo frame superimpose, special effects. There's a special function call auto-fix that automatically adjust dark faces taken with bright backlight. The new version also support nightmode too. Well, too bad it's not a freeware.... Only found a older working version somewhere.

JohnX: U cannot compare between a Series 40 and a Series 60 phone. Read up the previous posts to know why.

Having bought this phone on the first day it was released here in the U.K , all i can say is that I have fully regretted buying this.
I had the 7250i and the 3330 before that. Both of them are very fast i.e the menus are near instant and very quick.
Expecting the same from this phone I am very disappointed.
Just a short list of why you should not buy this phone
1)Extremely slow menus, takes a lot of time to respond to the buttons.
2)Switching on the phone takes atleast a minute for you to make a phone call.Compare that to the 7250,which needs all of 10 seconds.
3)no automatic keylock. You do have a PIN number enabled lock that you can enable, but you have to enter a 4 digit pin each time you want to use it , and on a slow phone like this, its a nuisance and a waste of time
4)Has some crappy video editing software which might be good for teenagers or those who have nothing better to do but fiddle around with their phones, but for most of us,perfectly useless.
The only good thing is that it atleast looks like a proper phone and not a toy, which most phones nowadays look like and I dont have to squirm in embarassment in front of my patients when i answer calls in front of them.

Well Purchased 3230 Today.. Tested Tried Buggy Bugs were there, Nice phone apart from sound thats where new bug lies again.
Paired it with Nokia Bluetooth Wireless headset Hs-4W
Guess what when you play any music file the sound in the bluetooth headset is soo soo low even if the volume is FULL, too bad. when you talk through it or make a call its ok but again when incoming is there no sound is there in the bluetooth headset instead it the phone beeps twice and plays the default nokia tone sound not even the sound which I set like some mp3.
Another bug to be added on in the Next FFirmware!! If anyone faced this, please post
Thanks.

Now that we have got into this photo business seriously, i'd like to share a software which is a freeware and can be easily found on the internet, using which we can reduce the noise or in other words the grains on the photo's. Try it to beleive it. The name of the software is Noiseware Community Edition.

If u don mind a phone without symbian.. get the 6230i, plays mp3 better den 3230..
Regarding the 1.3mp thingy.. i mention b4..
3230 takes picture at 1280 x 960 , which is
1228800 pixels... which is 1.23* megapixel..
This is the effective resolution..
1.3 is the lens... For standard publishing, the megapixels starts from 1.3, 2 , 3.2, 4,5 and so on... And it is also somehow like a way to attract ppl to buy...
For pictures to be properly proportional, It has to be at a 4:3 ratio... 1280 x 960 is 4:3 ratio...
The 6230i takes at 1280 x 1024 ... which is
1310720 pixels.. which is 1.3 megapixels..
However it is not in the 4:3 ratio..
Btw, U can always change the size of the image by using an picture editor program...
And someone has also link a program to take pictures at 1280 x 1024... So it comes out to be 1.3 megapixel...
I hope this will solve all the problems asked about the megapixel thingy... AND
Pls do not ask anymore

hi... just wondering... The camera for Nokia 3230 stated 1.3Megapixel but at the back of the phone, the printing is 1.2Megapixel (next to the camera lens).
Can anyone advise on that?
