helloe all nokia 3230 users
can any body help me how i can receive the files on the memory card directly by bluetouth or by infra ?? cuz when i receive files , it autamticly save on phone memory and it is make me not able to receive the files more than 5 or 5.5 mb
also when screen is light it make low noisy which appear in vedio record(any one have this proplem in nokia 3230?) if u near your ear from screen you will hear it
can any body help in this 2 proplems ???

yes, you can assign an image to every contact by doing an 'add thumbnail'.
tone composer, i read it from somewhere..on its respective Nokia phone model website that it comes with it.

They're still compressed when sent to the computer. The phone takes the pics at 1280 by 1024 and for some strange reason compresses them to 1280 by 960 which makes people's faces look fat! They are dead easy to re-size with a comp, but you shouldn't have to. I was just asking ifthe problem had been fixed, because otherwise this phone is excellent.

Hey guys,
I've got the phone two days ago, and it's briliant!!!
everything in it is just wonderful.
I got it in red and it looks stunning.
It's not slow at all, the screen is very nice and the keypad is very easy to deal with.
I love it.
Thanks for everybody that posted anything about this phone, coz I got it after I read your opinions.

Expected..
The area of the screen display that show the picture is compressed..
The camera takes at 1280 x 960 which is a 4:3 ratio..
The phone displays at 176 x *** ... so it is compressed from the top down...
So this results in a compressed picture as seen from the phone... when u transfer it to the computer, it should look ok

small expert: pictures compressed as seen from the phone. esp obvious say after u take ur bf/gf's face...then after a few seconds, WOAHLA..their face become machiam like muffins. Flatter a bit. hehe

HEEELLO 3230 USERS ... COULD YOU HELP ME HERE A LITTLE PLEASE???? I want to know if it can record with 3GPP video streaming ... or just like 7610 and 6670 the videos recorded are crap ... and it loses a lot of frames ... I have 6230 and it records really good ... the recorder is good ... 2 bad the camera is 0.3mbpix ... please, anyone who has this phone ... tell me ...

I recently got this phone. I'm pretty much satisfied with its performance. The radio seems good enough. Though one thing seems to be irritating. All files that i receive thru bluetooth and infrared are stored on the phone memory. Can anyone tell me how i can change this so that it uses the memory card. Also i was'nt able to move files received thru bluetooth from a K700i to the gallery folder. Is this due to sum compatibility issue with sony and nokia or sumthing else. Can someone help me on this??

You are so right. I've had my 3230 for just two days & a flake of dust has just appeared behind the screen !!!!
What with my old 6630 losing signal & missing calls & eating the battery, now this 3230 obviously has a poorly deigned case !
I'm sick of Nokia phones.
If you have any shares in Nokia my advice is sell them. It seems the rot has set in with that company.

hey u guys i was just wondering if you people out there could tell me if the 3230 is a good phone for a 14 yr old kid. i used 2 have a 3200 but it broke n now im lookin for a new fone nd this looks lyk a good 1 for me could some1 plz tell me if im making a good choice.

When u recieve files from ur friend either by bluetooth or IR, it uses the phone's internal memory to save first... the default internal memory for 3230 is 6mb.
But some are used for the operating system, messages and so on.. so u hav to check how much internal memory is left in ur phone b4 recieving files from ur friend.
About the vibration in slient mode..
Someone said about recording a slient tone..
den set it as ringing tone.. even calls also hav to be set to the slient ringing tone.. den when u recieve a msg or a call.. the phone will vibrate but no sound produced..
However there also also some complains about the beep sound b4 the ringing tone is heard..
i personally experience this problem too, so i am waiting for the new firmware by nokia and hope they improve on it

Looks like the gap between keys are a little too big. Will the dust get in to the screen easily? While teh case is not exchangeable, does it mean we can not clean it up?
Will 7610 be able to be cleaned if the dust gets in to teh scfreen? It is a big concern that I have because my current 6220 has so much dust on the screen and I could not clean them out!

Two niggles with this 3230. Why do Nokia put faint numbers & letters with little contrast on the key pad so you can hardly read them & why does the backlight switch of after just a few seconds & it can't be set for a longer time ?
Idiots... why can't they even get the simple things right !
