The houseplates/housings are not original Nokia accessories and the Nokia 3230 does not 'support' interchangeable housings.
Should there be scratches, the layman user can't change them but to bring the equipment down to the Nokia Care Centre, which will in the end incur charges outside the warranty conditions.

I think all of us do not carry the Samsung D500 so to ask us which is a better phone, we'd be biased towards either brand.
There're many online reviews out there for your reading pleasure, do some homework and make a good judgement out of them. Different brands come with different features and benefits.

i think nokia 3230 is really a good phone . it's just the problem with the software . you guys sometimes just can't wait for the phone to be released . maybe nokia release phone so fast due to overwalming response ? can't just think for yourself . electronics things cannot be guaranted and that is why we get 1 years warranty in case any software or hardware problem we can still go back to nokia care centre . alright ? i am also facing those problem . i am just waiting for a new firmware now hoping that it will fix the camera problem and the silent sms no vibrate problem . and real player when it's in highest or lowest volume it's the same volume . these problems irritates me . hope nokia will come out with a firmware that fixes all bugs soon . be patients guys

i've seen some housing and facepaltes on ebay for this phone which makes you feel good about scratches.

You cannot change the housings of the phone. It comes in jus dull black and warm red.

i brought this nokia 3230 n like it n its mp3 mono but the radio is good n the pictures n pictures r very good n i even have s700i n compare with n sony wins but except the video recording 2 mins for s700i n 1hour recording for nokia n great the quality n i mostly used nokia 3230 for recording use n s700i for mp3 with i mixed combine n the battery is very good can last me 1day is good enough for me n s700i can last 2days of short usage n if only s700i got 1hour recording n i would not brought nokia 3230 but i still need symbian phone n this phone rocks compare to previous models 7610/6670/3660/6600/n 6630 lacks radio n which is only a 3g phone n i dont like 3g because have pay alot for that type of services n prefer 2g n hope that all of but this 2 phones which i strongly recommend n bye bye bye bye

to dan-andrew, about vibration in silent mode, i think i got the same problem, i have set the option and still it doesn't vibrate. So, if you don't experience this thing, what is your firmware version? is it newer or what??

here my review for nokia3230
well i agree that there is beep sound when rinor sms comes but indirectly u get alert so for me even this bug is good because i get alert thinking a call or sms is coming and also ring tones are very loud i dont agree with any body who says that ring tones are low downlaod pholyphonic ring tones and then play u will see thedifference
even visual radio is very good and best thing of this phone is its screen is very bright and much better in resolution i liked its screen and this phone even does not gets reboot well I went through bug list what people have posted if they face such problem then they can get software upgrade that will be available by next month and ur problem will get solved and think the price we pay for this phone is worth and it is a phone we have all the things in one phone I have installed 256 mb card which quite for me to have tons of ringtones and pictures and also the real sound of mp3 player comes low but when u play as ring tone it comes as very high pich sound well i feel this is good phone and rest problems will get solved as new version of software comes

for 'Arunabh Varma ':you see, i think you are a little stupid; e.g.: the phone is vibrating in sillent mode, but you have to set this option!!! And pictures can be easy adjusted!!! The only bugs: the error bip and the monophonic mp3!!!

I dont agree with last two guys...I used this phone one week and I will buy it soon.
When is in silent mode, Should be silent, no?? Even vibration make noise in a meeting, when phone is on the table...
Ring tones level are quite loud.
640\480 camera resolution is ok.
Loudspeaker is average.
mp3 I dont need. Is enough like this for me.
There are very good mp3, for who want this, in shops..

gotta agree with the last guy. This phone suck ass. MP3 really sub-standard. Slow CPU. Crappy Menu system. I have a K700I Sony and that one RULED! too bad it didn't have a memory slot. What can I say, Nokia just don't cut it. I'm gonna trade in my phone in 6mths time.

Nokia 3230: A big dissapointment. I got a black 3230 4 days back and am very unhappy with its bugs. You all know what im talking about...
~ no sms vibrate on silent mode
~ irritating beep call sound
~ bad loudspeaker
~ funny camera resolution
~ really bad mp3
~ low ringtone volume
~ and the list goes on...
All you product engineers at Nokia are good for nothing. Dont you check a model thoughroly and then release it. This clearly shows how bad Nokia's Quality Check is.
Im sorry Mr.Ceo(Hope you get to hear this..)

Yes you can use normal rs mmc card on your 3230. I use 256 mb normal rs mmc card without problem. But they say dual voltage card spends less battery power.

Phone looks ok. Is simbian, big screen, PTT, video, 1.3 megapixel, mp3 player, mono or stereo is ok for me. Looks very solid made, I was have it, in my hand. I will buy this phone soon.....
