dude 6230 was the 3rd fone i had and the mp3 is mono ;unlike 6230i which has a stereotype sound and also regarding the problems u mentioned i guess u r the only 3230 owner who has the foresaid problems .....

hi guys
till today nokia3230 does not have any problem I dont get why they write that there is problem i have inserted 512 mb card and it works fine and also according to me there are no bugs at this moment because i am using this phone since 3 months i bought from germany
if people feel there is bug just wait for new software upgrade all poblem will be solved like that of nokia6630

i have 4 problems until now
1-storing the messages at memory card
2-edit the icons in the themes
3-no key gard
4-call counter not working on it (AngrySoft.CallCounter.v1.1.S60.SymbianOS6) it used to work on 3650

Surely the proportionality problem can be fixed with an update? If not I'm gonna be very angry!

Yups, the firmware version, as of today, 6 April 2005, is the same as mentioned.
I hope the unproportionality quality of the pictures is due to a software oversight (which can be resolved by a firmware upgrade) rather than a hardware defect. If its the latter, I doubt we early adopters can demand for a fix. "Picture quality inherent in different production batch" might be Nokia Care's response and we'll be stuck big time.
In the meantime, those with access to freewarre/cracked symbian applications can consider installing other 3rd party camera applications and use them to take pictures. Update us on the quality.
The reception of the FM radio is very good, Visual Radio should be up and running in the middle half of the year. BroadcastAsia 2005 in June/July thereabouts will see the introduction of Visual Radio in our region.
I'm using a 512mb RS-MMC and it works fine on my set.

My firmware is V 3.0510.0ch , 05-03-05 , RM-51 . i went to nokia care centre singapore and they told me my firmware is the latest . to confirm with you all . is this the latest ?

i see. actually i wanted to buy nokia6630 but it's using DV mmc. and in singapore now max is only 128 mb. i need at least 256 . 3230 can support normal rs mmc. nvm it's ok . just that got a few bugs i find it uneasy to use. like the camera and the silent mode. i think nokia should fix the problem asap lor. thanks for your advise. why can't we save our message in memory card ? all other symbian phone i've seen can save messages in memory card .

hey men 6230 is stereo in both radio and mp3 where did u get tat mp3 mono in N6230?hav u got 6230?try again & figure it out men...

The MP3 on the 3230 is MONO..Mono doesnt mean that it should be heard thru just one earpiece..If u want to see the differance try listening to the FM Radio it is Stereo, u will notice the differance in quality with the MP3..the FM Radio sounds far better..
Nokias with Stereo MP3 are Nokia 6630 & 6230..

It's MP3 is steero !! i tested it . it's on steero on HDS-3 headset . how come people keep saying that the MP3 for this phone is mono ? i don't understand . i only got 2 problem with this phone. tone comes out before call or sms & the camera software problem . hope nokia can fix it asap .

I am happy people are reporting the bugs, I am sure Nokia will do something abt them..After havin the 6230 for more than a yr now & seein the firmware upgrades they brought on it, I am optimistic..
3230 is a great lookin mobile, only if it had the Stereo Mp3 it would have made the Perfect Mobile..I feel as of now only the Nokia 6630 is the better Symbian Series 60 than this one..But 3230 looks a hell of lot better than the 6630..The new ones comin up ie 6680 & 6681 though have better features & the all important Stereo Mp3 are no match in the looks Dept with the 3230..

the bugs so far
1) camera at normal and high resolution not proportional
2) when ringing mode (whichever profile) put to silent, SMS DOESN'T VIBRATE
3) beep comes out everytime before the phone rings. (for both calls and sms)
4) the basic resolution 640X480 quality is MUCH MUCH worse than compared to 6600's 640X480 quality!!!
Anymore bugs pls feel free to add on. (copy n paste)

First thing you gotta try on this phone is the video recorder. It's so laggy, just like the old 6600. Guess Nokia didn't upgrade it. Try the 6630's video recorder. It's much better and hence they are at the same price.

you'll only encounter the resizing issue when you set the quality to high, which resolution is 1280x960, in basic it is in 640x480 hence the pictures are proportionate

Played with it some more, the camera is great, I ahven't noticed the re-sizing issue, and the colours are far better than the 7610.

I have the new Nokia 3230, I was very nervous about getting a new phone as I really loved my old 7650, which I still feel holds it's own in today's market. But I must say, the 3230 is excellent.
The screen is amazing, the buttons are fine, people complaining about them, but I don;'t know why. Any questions, ask away!

I bought 3230 and am very happy with its function. The only problem that i am facing is transferring the data(calendar,sms, phone book) from my previous handset. As the PC Suite is not available, can anyone guide me how do i transfer my entire data to the new 3230?
