Hi Vikas,
Both the devises are compatible with nokia 3230.If its a cable the model name of the cable is DKU-2 advantage is you can directly connect it with pc and transfer files to the memmory card or phone via the PC suite software.Disadvantage is file transfer speed is slow.
If its a card reader you will have to remove the MMC from the phone and insert it to the card reader.Advantage of card reader is its extermely fast

Please tell me whats the difference between data cable and memory card reader. Which of these should I buy?? Is nokia 3230 compatible with these above devices?

Hi Aneez,
Could you please send me the link to download the OGG player for phone and AVS Studio to convert mp3's I belive the size will get reduced to 1/4 th without reducing the sound quality

Wouldnt recommend this fone to anyone.Its bigger than most fones and isnt the best looking.The OS on mine resets rendomly wen it feels like it and to receive blootooth msgs,u need enough memory on ur fone,even if you have a massive mem card.

I formatted my new 3230 phone and inserted new 512MB RS-MMC and I converted my favourite 150 mp3s into ogg format with AVS audio converter.
All of these songs are compressed into 1/4 size with same quality & upload it to the Mmc. It works with essential quality on Ogg Player with the Headset included with 3230. By boosting the gain on the óggplayer settings the sound plays with essential quality without Headset. 3230 works good with 512Mb mmc.
3230 is better than SE walkman when u use Headset. 3230 is a good phone. Very low price in india. If you want all of the softwares to keep useful this phone mail me.Thank you.......

Naveen: Turn "Show Captured Image" off in the camera settings to make the camera much (MUCH) quicker.

Using this phone since autumn 2005 and very happy with it in general except two issues:
1) keypad around joystick is not of the quality and 2) something with the blutetooth profile for dial-up networking. I have a iPAQ h2210 PDA with built-in bluetooth and it connects seamlessly to SonyEricsson phones (K700i and W800i) but I just can't get to work with my 3220. Others have the same problem but no solution so far. In general: the most feature rich Nokia phone at the price.

i got my phone fixed! all they did was resolder the pins together.

the trick to the camera... if i take a pic of people, i count to 3 but at 2 i snap the photo, just in time to 3 that the people start to move again.

I having the problem with the camera. When I take the photo, it takes the just 1 second before the click. But video coverage is OK.

Hey Every1...
ive been thinkin of vich mibile to buy 4 a long time ....n da best ne i cud think of in a low budget wuz 3230....nd its a really gud deal ...
-1.2 effective mp - gives really nice photos
-Radio - no other symbian fone other than ngage n 6260 has a radio at such a low price....
-connectivity is gr8 ..it has both infra red nd bluetooth!!
i dunno wut else to say really good phone...
theres only one thing thats been botherin me a bit is the loud speaker... its loud, i mean in ur house u can hear evrythin loud n clear but it dont think it'll b so loud n audible in a noisy environment..

Tim, thanks for the reply... am rili so sad about this coz I actually bought this phone for those features, I didn't know that reformatting the memory card will loose those key features of my 3230. Anyway, thanks you very much for the answer, I appreciate it. :)

my phone just broke! while i was trying to push the power button so i could switch my phone to silent mode, i didn't feel that "click" it makes when i pressed the button. and the phone won't even turn off! so i opened the phone, and i was to see that my phone of only 9 months is broken! i noticed that the "power switch" was totally off of its solderrings. i mean completely off!

so guess if you press the power button all the time, it will eventually lead to this. cuz i press the power button all the time. especially when the keys are locked so that the screen would turn on so i could see in the dark, or to switch profiles.
the phone still works... only if i jiggle the swtich or make the leads touch and then press the power button.
i'm gonna try and bring it to a respectable phone repair shop and have them resolder the leads... if they can still repair it, otherwise i'm screwed!

if u wanted music in ur mobile, u would have opted for SE Walkwan fones or even the ROKR series, with the budget, u can't have everytink...tis guy has SYMBIAN it can do way more tinks dan just .mp3

Dear All, I bought this 3230 in Singaproe and it export set, and soft ware is a bit different from other local set, any one can advice me where can i get slide show software. because it not pre-load in my phone, many thanks

i have this phone. and i regret that i ever bought this stupid phone.
the audio player sucks. the keypad is horrible.

thnx loads for ur fast response. well i tried changing the themes as well as resetting the phone too, but none worked. then i was able to download an application called 'font remover' & it just worked perfect. thnx again Tim for your support, tc.
