Hey Arj,
1st of all let me tell u that each phone has its own Pros & Cons.3250 is having and even W810 is having it.Tell me,what can u install in W810.Can u install Smart Movie player, can u install Seleq or Fexplorer or Ogg player? I know 3250 is also not having it but it will get it all in 5-6 months.But SE & Samsung phones are non-smartphones made for kids.
Once upon a time i also had SE t630,but it just fell from 3ft height & it got a hell lot of problems.But after that i used Ngage qd,6600,6680.It didnt gave me single problems even falling from great height.Plus nokia phones have more resell value than SE.

Apart from listening to the sound of both models and reading reviews from the internet w/c seem to be unanimous in saying that w810i is better than 3250, these are some of the questions I asked when I compared both phones, in the end, I ended up getting the w810. For once, viperkid is right, I dont have d 3250. Its coz I have something better, the w810i.

Does the 3250 show the photo of the sender like the w810 or does it just say 1 message received? Do u still have to install a program for this to appear? How inconvenient.

When you are sending a text message to someone you always text, does it already have the name of the person on its list like the w810 or do you still have to search the phonebook?

Does the screen brightness adjust to the lighting conditions automatically like the w810 or unless u adjust it, it always remains the same whether in a light or dark environment?

When you listen music, do you put it in your pocket or do you have to have a holster for it since its port is on the side and it would be hard to place in the pocket? What is the quality of the headset?

I know it can play other formats aside from MP3, AAC and WAV. It needs to do this because of limited space. Im not sure abt this but are there mini sd cards above 1GB available? Isnt the internal memory of 3250 only 10mb? Memory sticks can go up to 4GB.

Does it have IR? 3250 is triband only?

Its supposed to be a music phone, why do you have to assign a shortcut for it? Because of this, u will have 1 less shortcut button for other apps? How is the sound quality?

I know its symbian, but it doesnt accept applications like the older versions.

To potential buyers, I suggest u try asking these questions before choosing. Search the internet for reviews. Try out the units. Who would you believe? Professional review websites who have been testing phones for the longest time or some biased person?

Read first before you answer. I dont have the 3250 coz when I compared it w/ w810, I ended up buying the W810 because its much better. Ur beloved 3250 only has 10mb internal memory. How sad.

U said that in walkman phones, you cannot categorize by artist, album or title. What I said was this can also be done in walkman phones. You keep bragging that ur 3250 can do this, I just said that this can also be done by thew810. You probably never even tried the w810.

So u still have to assign a button for the music shortcut of 3250?! How sad...w810 already has a dedicated button for this.

Oh, and the keypad lock... i heard you still have to enter a code everytime you wish to unlock it? How cumbersome....

Who cares about 3rd party apps. Your symbian doesnt even accept unlicensed apps like the old version does. W810 already has video, photo editor and music composer. There are lots of apps downloadable too.

I shouldnt even be comparing 3250 and w810. 3250 is a lot cheaper that w810. It caters to a different market. Maybe we shhould meet sometime and compare phones and see /c is better. The winner gets the phone of the loser.....but your phone is cheap. I dont want it.

ERRR! WRONG, u can put on one of d softkeys d shortcut "Music Player" or put in one of d active standbys!

can ur beloved W810 install and run quickoffice and other important 3rd party apps! play WMA, eAAC+, does it have "real" video editing software??

yeah i totally agree with you! perhaps Arj/TRex/Bugboy is so DISAPPOINTED of his/her W810 bcoz it has loads of BUGS even he/she had d latest firmware... pity... he/she has no resort but to demolish 3250's performance by saying:

"w810 beats it in terms of sound quality and clarity, whether on loudspeaker or headset."

Arj, u really DONT have 3250 in REALITY! hello??

macro mode means able to capture v close objects like text with clarity.....e.g 20 or 30cm away

without macro mode u cant use the damera to capture text even if its 2mp....so if u want to use phone for this purpose this one's not suitable.....try N90, N80, K750 etc....

the loudspeaker may not be stereo, but to me it is great...at least its much better than the 6630's!!

If you analyse all the opinions 3250 is getting you would find that all the prospective buyers are comparing their options within Nokia. Nobody even thinks of buying and SE phone. They talk about N70, 6681, N91 but sorry no SE. Where does that put Arj, TRex etc. Anyway they are same and one. What say you imposters!!!

hi, well from reading these post...i gather the loud speaker is ...loud. but is the loud speaker mono or stereo? will the quality be same or better than the stereo loudspeaker of...say samsung d600?

Also is there a music composer on this phone?

The Nokia 3250 wasnt in my mind when i went through the specifications of wlkman ie w810

but syill i bougth the fun fone...nokia 3250

its got a whole lot of things that can better the SE

Adobe photoshop
Video Editor
A highly better..........Library

its kinda lame to see that the walkman series have mirrors embedded so as to take ones own shot.

more over the design and keypad lightings are much more stylish and exquisite in nokia 3250.........

True SE and Motorola were leading the tech race....but nokia has bombed back with the N-Series and 3250

The 3250 also has a better headset connector...were one can control a play remote and connect different kinds of earphones not just the one given.

moreover the 3250 has better color and pixel configs.and can also play flash themes as in W810

i bought 3250 a few days ago and for me its a great phone that suited my needs. the only thing lacks is not many apps and downloads available yet. but i can wait ;).

i'm also having trouble to check my balance..how to solve this prblm? anyone know?? viperkid??

one more thing is how to convert mp3 to eAAC+ ???

I have the w810i and I've given the 3250 a listen in our local nokia shop. All I can say is, the 3250 is a good music phone but only 3250 owners will say that their phone sounds better than Walkman phones. Nokia might be making improvements on music phones (especially the n91) but the 3250 is way behind SE and Motorola in sound quality. Lets enumerate:

- 3250 might be ahead in loudness, but the w810 beats it in terms of sound quality and clarity, whether on loudspeaker or headset. 3250 headset is inferior (but since both have the 3.5mm jack, this is not a problem).

- The twisting design might be unique, but its useless. I wont be surprised if the rotating part will loosen after a few months. To go to music mode you have to twist the phone 180 degrees, or go through the menu. Whereas in walkman phones, its just a press of a button. What if you have to text while listening? You have to twist it back again

- What viperkid keeps ragging about the w810 not being able to categorize accdg to artist, title, album....lies...This is standard in all music phones.

- 3250 does not even have auto keypad lock.

- Camera, Im sure everyone will concede that W810 is way better than 3250. Only a blind person will say otherwise. The only problem some W810i units have is the flashlight sometimes blinks after being turned on after a few seconds, which will be easily fixed by a sw upgrade. The 3250 does not even have a flashlight.

- The bulky 3250's headset plugs in at the side of the unit, which is actually cumbersome if you just put your phone in your pocket...if u can still put it in.

- 3250 is triband; W810i is quadband

- W810i has EDGE, Im not sure about 3250...I hope it does.

Apart from the last 2, it is the hardware that makes the 3250 inferior. So no matter how good its symbian software may be, which is not saying that w810i's is inferior (as it has a beatiful, fast and responsive interface), it still wont be able to compete. No wonder 3250 is cheaper than W810i.
