I have a Nokia 3310 2017 since about 1 month.
Here are a few things that I noticed, and that no review that I found on the internet where talking about:
Battery life:
Definitely not as advertised, it last about 4 to 5 days with very few phone calls (less than one hour of phone call since last charge cycle) and the network coverage where I stay is good. And just to be sure there is no confusion; I don’t own the newer 3g version about to come out soon.
I bought this phone to replace a Samsung GT-E2550 (dumb-phone too), and I’m using it the same (2g, same operator and only one sim card, same places…). This Samsung phone was lasting about 10 days and more with a smaller battery (800mAh vs 1200mAh for the new 3310).
This leads me to the conclusion that there is something badly designed with the new Nokia 3310. Either the hardware is bad, or it’s the software and in that case an update could help. So far there is nothing on that matter on Nokia website.
Agenda:
The agenda can only accommodate 25 inputs (events) which make it quite useless. Who actually use an agenda and only have less than 25 inputs? And to make the mater worse, there is no warning about this limit or a counter anywhere, so basically when you try to input your 26th event, a warning comes out and you cannot save it. You will then have to go thru each or of your previous events, and delete them one by one to make space.
Good thing with this phones are:
Overall built quality is quite good. Lots of comments on the internet (youtube) about this phone not being as sturdy as the old Nokia 3310, but I have my doubts and I owned one of these old brick-phones. You might have your screen scratched but it is very well physically designed and robust.
2000 text messages can be stored in the phone (lot of people wonder about that)
Camera pictures not that bad and saved on your SD card directly, whenever you plug the USB to your computer you can access the content of the SD card as a USB drive (no driver needed) which is simple but very nice.
Saving/restoring your contacts to the SD card is easy and comes as a .CSV file (but you cannot merge a file with the current contacts of the phone, so you need to export, merge manually on a text editor, and import)
It is possible to disable mobile data, but you cannot choose separately for each SIM card.
To unlock the phone, you need to press the end call button (on the right) twice, and then another key on the left once. It will not unlock in your pocket. When locked, any key pressed but the end call button will not light the screen up and thus not draw the battery.
The torch is working well, to enable it you need to unlock the phone and then press twice the up key.
Loudspeaker could be stronger, but it’s enough to understand someone calling you when you’re in a car and holding your phone about a foot away.
Bluetooth transfer works with a Samsung android smartphone, no problems unlike some other recent Nokia brick-phones.
It is possible to completely disable any sound/beep/ringtone when receiving text messages, phones calls, or just pressing the keys, or anything else. It might need a few settings, but it’s doable. On the other hand, there is no way to disable the short vibration when someone pickup your call.

I have a decade-old mini-Sim (the larger Sim card) but the specifications for the new 3310 state that it takes a micro-Sim. Does this mean that my mini-SIm won't fit in the 3310? It seems odd to allow only the newer, smaller Sims (if this is the case) when the original on which it is based had a mini-Sim slot!
