I've had this phone for more than 4 years, and I'm living fine with it. I'm very attached to it, and I refuse to buy a new one even though I can afford the most expensive phone in the market. Although it's a great phone in general, it has its problems. First, and most importantly, is the call quality. All the other phones I've tried have better sound quality (That includes: Erissson T39, Sony Ericsson T68i, Siemens S55, and Siemens SX1). But I've lived with this phone for 4 years, so I guess it's not THAT bad. Secondly, it lacks a built-in SMS memory, so you have to rely on the SIM card for storing messages (though it includes memory for the phonebook). Also related to messaging is typing long messages. If you type short messages (less than, say 150 characters), then it's fine. But if you type long messages, it tends to become unresponsive and becomes very slow. Now lastly, something that made me consider the thought of buying a new cellphone is the battery life, and especially now. Originally the battery wasn't that great. But now, after the battery got old, it barely lasts for the day. Buying a new battery costs almost as much as getting a new basic cellphone (Such as the Nokia 1110, which I have seriously considered, but I couldn't let my 5210 go :-). Another minor problem is that It's only dual-band.

hello,
I don't have this phone but absolutely adore the covers for it.. I wish Nokia would update this very same phone structure but with the latest features in most nokia phones today but with a bigger screen. I 'd be the first to buy it ! Is this , by the way, same design as the new sports nokia out?

Have had this phone since May 2002 and it still working good. Only issues are the covers are not very durable...the screen on the original cover cracks easily. Original covers are expensive to replace. Imitation covers are very poor quality (poor fitting/keypad paint comes off easily).
On the 3rd year found the phone will sometimes turn off itself due to lose battery connection. Probably because it got dropped so many times. Fixed this by wedging a bit of paper in between the battery and the outer cover.
Overall a very good quality phone.

i love the 5210, i had it about 3 years ago and it was the best phone i ever had. I really miss it. Those old nokia's like 5210, 8810, 3310 are the really decent phones. They did the job of calling and did it well.

My 2nd phone after the N3310.. it was the coolest phone in the market, and turn heads too... but now, the clam shell starts to peel of, the the side buttons and the shell release buttons are gone..but, overall, it was a good phone, nice design (urban style and rugged, and tough too... thnx nok.

I have been handling this phone for about three years and i have not come accross any problem in this phone. I think that it is just the phone that atheletes like me might want. The only problem is with the red coloured X-pres on shells. Their red colour fades away. Rest all is nice and well Other colours like Wave blue(the one i am using) retains its colour. If you are thinking that this phone is outdated then let me tell you only three upper models of this phone have come(5100, 5140, 5140i) which are better than this durable phone. 5210 is another name for durability.

I have found sometimes when accessing the Video recorder the 256k screen starts to pixelate, i use a 1GB memory card and the video doesn't seem to go for very long, this is no good because i coat my balls in peanut butter and get FIDO to lick it off. Its not cheating.....

When I had the 5210 it was the happiest time of my life. Unfortunatly my boyfriend ran over it with his monster truck and it didnt survive. I tried to resucitate it but it was to late.
I love how much memory it had. I bought a 128MB memory card to put in it and I had hundreds of photos saved in it.
The camera quality was brilliant. It was a 7.5 Mega pixel camera. The best quality ever. The detail was great.
The bluetooth headset that came with it was awesome. The highest of quality. It was valued at $399 on its own and I got it for free.
I loved how it was water proof. I went swimming with it hundreds of times and it worked fine. My boyfriend took it to his work occasionally and he is a carpenter and he gets dust everywhere and it still worked fine.
I miss this phone greatly. I got it at a bargain price for only $99.
I wish I had another one to replace it with.
