I cannot use my OVI store now.
When I try, I get the message that a new store needs to be downloaded. The phone downloads it. But it fails to install.
Can anyone help?

I hav dis nokia 5230 since 6months....i vote for symbian os its gud....but as al other nokia fones it gets easily corrupted by viruses....my fone hangs a lot....never buy nokia....os always gets easily corrupted by virus....

Personally I've been using the 5230 for a while now.
When I first bought it, I thought it was going to be aces - I was wrong.
Out the box, it's flimsy, has a terrible design, buttons that feel like cr@p and a redonculously irritating data transfer cable port.
The operating system that it uses feels sa if it was designed by a bunch of high school boys that didn't know what they were doing: Almost every feature/thing on the phone is run by it's own app, making the phones multitasking capabilities completely irrelevant.
Spec.wise though, I must say that the camera is superb (if you forgive the fact that it doesn't have a flash), the video recorder is almost unparalleled by any other phone (smooth, clear, good sound) and the audio is very nice indeed.
Browsing the internet is far easier with this phone, partially because of the high speed internet it's capable of using, and for the auto-flip accelerometer which allows you to view web pages fullscreen, sideways (very nice).
Again, design-wise the memory and sim card slots are in a terribly inaccessible place - you'll battle for a day or two to get them in/out whenever you need to.
DO NOT EVEN ASK about your messages!
They are arranged by time and date in a roundabout way which can sometimes leave you clueless as to where some of them have disappeared to.
Looks: 3/10
Functionality: 1/10
Damage to your wallet: 3/10
All in all, a "Meh :|" phone.
If you had a choice between this and any other phone in existence, please choose the latter.

i am using 5230 nokia with docomo network, i can't make video calls , in e-63 also don't having front camera but there is a video call. plz help me its a network problem are the anything....

5250 doesent wifi and the screen is pathetic and the phone itself is patcetic . 5230 is the best phone in those cheap touchscreen market. Srsly buy it , u wont be dissapointed.

PIZA, 27 Jan 2011ANY2 updated the phone yet, the is another software update?i got Software Version 12.0.004 installed when i purchased it. Software Version 40.0.003 is available now. i have updated the same yesterday. dial *#0000# and check the SW version of your set. select options->Check for Updates to update. you can also do the update using Nokia PC Suite or Nokia OVI Suite.

Internet speed on the nokia is it's weak point.
Camera and video are fine, call quality, no complaint.
But the nokia web browser really pisses me off.
Apple and the androids are well in the lead!
