hi friends i buy this 5230 mobile before 4 days this is unbelievable mobile it is very smart mobile i am using gprs in this mobile i giving the battery life is 30 hours it imaginable that's way i love this mobile you tube is so clarity wonder full mobile in low cost.

I bought this mobile a month back. Here are my thoughts about this phone.
Pricing - 10/10
Call Quality - 9/10
Sound thro’ speaker - 5/10
Touch response - 6/10
Aesthetics - 7/10 (Subjective)
Built quality - 7/10
Screen Estate - 8/10 (Not too large and not too small. Perfect fit)
3G - 9/10 ( I am using BSNL 3G SIM and the
internet speed is between 460 kbps approx during peak
hours 1.8 mbps approx at night)
GPS lock to satellite - 8/10
Nokia Maps - 6/10 Use Google maps instead. You get lot of landmarks compared to Nokia Maps. The street spelling is horrible in Nokia Maps. I used it extensively in Chennai and it is very difficult to get a street name when you search for directions. I like the minimal UI of Google Maps)
So I give 75 marks out of 100. My suggestion for those who are thinking to buy this phone… GO FOR IT…. It’s terrible value for money Phone. Now the price has come down to Rs.7,200/-. No other manufacturer’s offer a smart phone with all these features for such a cheap price. There are some disadvantages, but none of those are real deal breaker.

My first 'smartphone'. I didn't find it smart or intuitive. I've had it since June and it's been sent back 3 times for repair and software upgrade (ovi couldn't do it via computer, in fact ovi software doesn't appear to do anything!) and now it's finally packed up altogether. Screen frozen and nothing works. Nokia haven't even had the decency to respond to my emails. There is no way I could recommend this phone.

Jecks, 08 Nov 2010The only problem with this phone is the battery, it lasts f... moreit's a symbian 60 phone..so it does multi tasking..if u do not close every applications appropriately,u might just end up draining ur battery faster..u shud close unused applications to stop strong consuming of the battery..it can last up to 2 days :)

easly software problems occur.The outer speaker does not play loud music,in time to come it will freeze alot especially if u have mxit on it but otherwise its ok.

Got this phone unlocked as a secondary device for when I'm overseas or for when I'm going camping, etc. My observations are as follows:
Physical properties - solidly built, but rather dull to look at. Screen is not the best, not comfortable to surf the web with for any significant period of time. The touch input is not the best, often fails to register a touch. Rather odd SIM card mechanism.
Software - Nokia seriously needs to update its OS. It looks dated, it isn't intuitive and it's prone to crashing (although this might be partly due to some badly written apps). The touch keyboard is poor and often fails to register the correct input. Nokia's email service, although free, lacks basic features. For example on gmail it can't understand that I have subfolders where I organise and store my mail. This really isn't a particularly complex thing to ask and it makes a big difference to the functionality of the email software.
Performance - Battery life is ok for a touch screen, can last two days of low to moderate use. CPU seems to struggle at times, but so long as you keep the number of applications open at any one time to a minimum it does ok. For the price you pay, and given its been out a while its ok. Don't expect anything amazing.
Features - For its price it does offer a lot of value for money, particularly give the ovi maps being free. The sound quality for music playback is ok and it has an FM radio.
Apps - The Ovi store is not that great. The number of apps is improving, but really its a bit of a let down. Some apps are definitely unstable.
Overall I'm not that impressed. I've given the phone away to a friend and am looking to get another cheap smart phone. It does have a lot of features, but in the end the software lets it down massively. Come on nokia you make brilliant high quality handsets and then use an outdated OS with a poor UI. Think that nokia missed out when they didn't take the opportunity to buy Palm: webos on some of the nokia software would have been amazing and it might also have given app developers more incentive to build for webos.
