This is one of the best symbian (s60 v5,OS 9.1) phone from nokia with a nice 434mhz processor and sufficient RAM.
Symbian phones are capable of doing multitasks at the same time.Many symbian phone users are not aware of this.
Every users press the red key after doing any task(Eg:messaging,gallery)to exit from that menu.Other nokia devices such as s40 surely exit.But symbian doesnt.Those will be running in the background.After using the red key to exit in many menus,the phone will hang.
So try to use the 'exit' key in the bottom of the left menu instead of using red button.
Enjoy using nokia 5230 without hanging.

Some times it hangs i don't know why? and really its a nice mobile...........big screen and amazing mobiels

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2010Don't forget this phone has accelerometer for auto rotation... moreThankfully, I might add! cause teh 5230 auto-rotate function is such a pain in the ass; eighter too sensitive or too slow I would have prefered the good old MANUAL ROTATE; still trying to find san symbian app that implements manual rotate for this phone; and all this is Apple's fault! all the other producers copy the iPhone's mistakes religiouslly... this means being market leader...

been wit this phone for 4months now...and i can say its worth its price. go for it if u wanna, but there's is no wifi and video call.

most likely the set that you got is already defective before you even got it.
you might as well go back to where you got it from and have it replaced with a new unit.

sound quality is not at all good.........i will buy x6 or e63 in future.those are better

the phone is ultimate.
for Rs. 7649 /-from MOOBILE-STORE(2 yr warrenty) is it ok or m i cheated
can it support a 8GB memory card

the phone hangs more than often..with a frequently hanging touch screen... from it's price range it seems the best deal but it really is not...
