Use this setting to get tighter bass and to avoid those annoying humming noises.
Took me ages at first to figure it out but after a heck of a lot of trial and error, finnaly came up with something that suits my liking. just try it and feel the difference.
Note that setting all the bands to the highest value doesn't give you great music quality nor does it increase the output volume.
Adjusting the eq is like mixing different ingredients in cooking. You just gotta add the right stuff in the right quantity to get the desired results.

And BTW use fring IM client instead of Nimbuzz. It is much better and the data transfer is low compared to Nimbuzz. it also has built in VoIP and Skype client. So you can voice chat over skype or Gtalk accounts. Not to mention you can do video chat too over 3G or wifi network. The front cam if available acts as the web cam.

I'm from India (Kerala) too. Here to 3G seems to be a distant dream. And 3G didn't seem to matter much for me too. i would prefer wifi any day over as BSNL and other companies plannin to introduce 3G doesn't seem to have plans to implement flat rates for data. But GPS would have been a bonus for me but I don't miss that either. As this phone has network based positioning over satellite based GPS. You wont get pin point accuracy of the sat nav but it comes close and gives an idea about you general locality within a 2km circle. To me it's better than nothing and wont drain my battery. The EDGE speeds on this phone is pretty good and acceptable for browsing on the phone. I get 30KBps or 240Kbps download speeds with Airtel EDGE. I find it adequate for streaming youtube videos. Apart from this, the rest is same. So if 3G and GPS is not essential for you, this phone will do the job for you.
You can save that extra and buy yourself a good pair of earphones. Based on the opinions by other users, 5233 has a better battery backup than 5230 and the UI is a bit more responsive in 5233. So spending more money for something that you don't bother using is not considered wise. And in addition nobody will know the difference between the two as there is very little between them. For the time being, 5233 seems to be a better option unless 3G becomes more affordable and popular.
I am in no way against 5230 and I don't wish to offend any 5230 users. The fact is even without GPS and 3G, I'm quite content with the features and performance of my phone. The rest is upto you to decide which suits you better.

The nokia website shows different weight and volume for this model with and without stylus but gsmarena says it doesnt have stylus..

i m using nokia 5233. When i chat with nimbuzz and listen radio together... I m facing a problem..... When a new chat massage come, my radio become pause every time and have to resume manually. Can anyone help me how to solve it?

it's cool man.u cant get symbian based phone in d range of 8000.it has 1 limitation dt it has a camera without flashlite otherwise it's a smartchoice

This phone does support Opera Mini which is a java app. Opera Mini will work but there can be certain shortcomings as Opera Mini is not fully touch optimised.
For this phone there is something even better. the Opera Mobile is a symbian app and is far ahead in features as compared to opera mini. It has built in download manager and multiple tabbed browsing. Not to mention it is fully touch optimised so it works very well on this phone. For this phone, the Opera Mobile is recommended over Opera mini.
