majid, 24 Feb 2010I have a childish question but will be appreciated if anyon... moreOff Satellite... No.
There are phones that can pick up broadcast off terrestrial tower though.
I have seen some chinese models having this functionality. TV off nearby local tower.

Also it is worth mentioning that Nokia has been pushing a terrestrial broadcast format called DVB-H which is also endorsed by EU as "preferred technology for terrestrial mobile broadcasting". Broadcast will most probably be through mobile cell towers and will be of "acceptable quality" and giving access to service while moving in a vehicle at high speed.

If this becomes a standard in countries than user will be able to get live broadcast on their handheld devices (that will include mobile phones) that has a DVB-H reciever. There has been Nokia phones that came with a built in DVB-H reciever like Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition, N96, N77 etc and of other brands (complete list here : http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sName=&idMaker=0&idAvailability=0&nPriceLow=0&nPriceHigh=0&idCurrency=0&idFormFactor=0&idDualSIM=0&idQwerty=0&HeightMax=0&WidthMax=0&ThicknessMax=0&WeightMax=0&idOS=0&idDisplay=0&idDisplayRes=0&fDisplaySize=0&idDisplayTech=0&idTouchscreen=0&idAccelerometer=0&id35mm=0&idCamera=0&idCameraFlash=0&idVideoRecorder=0&idExpansionCard=0&idGPS=0&bWLAN=0&bEDGE=0&bGPRS=0&idBluetooth=0&bIR=0&bEmail=0&bWAP=0&bJava=0&idRadio=0&bMMS=0&idRingtones=0&sColor=&StandBy=0&TalkTime=0&sFreeText=DVB-H )

Nokia N92 doesn't has an inbuilt DVB-H reciever, but you can get an external Nokia reciever : http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/accessories/all-accessories/home-and-office/mobile-tv-receivers/nokia-mobile-tv-receiver-su-33w

    Hope that answers your question

I already sold my 5230 after almost a month of using it. Why? Because I didn't like it. It was cool for the first three days but it got a bit annoying after that. You'll need to click on something TWICE for it to work, and that's not the way a touchscreen phone is supposed to work. Many other factors made me sell this phone. Above all, it was not that good of a phone for me.; Nokia E63, the phone that I have now, has MUCH BETTER sound quality and it's not even a music phone. You guys decide, but in my opinion, this phone made me regret spending my hard-earned Christmas overtime pay.

                Hi Nokia 5230 owners!

I want to use it for GPS navigation outside. How do you find the LCD display outside in the sunlight, can you still read the screen? If you find it difficult does shading it with your hand help.

Also, does the QWERTY touch screen keyboard work well, or do you half wish it had a keypad?

                Cheers.

sud, 24 Feb 2010what about its battary life? and how its perfom as smartfon... moreThe battery life seems ok, ive been using this f0n a l0t of time, several h0urz on net, downloading and playing music in backgr0und, and watching 3gp videos after, and running th0se downloaded games and appz. U might say i am abusing it, but it is just my test to its multi tasking ability.

And because i d0nt hav any pc at h0me. And im in fact a wapbuilder addict, so m0st of the time i am using my ph0ne for severa hourz of c0ntin0uos usage, so i w0uld generally say charging everyday is juzt n0rmal.

So as a smart ph0ne? Its really perfectly awes0me, did i menti0ned "multitask" earlier? Then its very impressive, opening an applicati0n is just like getting s0methng in the drawer while reading s0methng imp0rtant with a pleasant background music playing.

Actually its my 1st smart ph0ne thats why im really impressed with it. Ü

However i haven't use s60 yet but i have 5130 and in that i have downloaded larger infact 3times bigger file than its phone memory that is approx 30mb.
