The 5230 is great for everyone !!
Although it comes with a 2mp cam and no wifi ( i use my iphone or laptop for that ) its still a very nice phone... Besides, browsing the internet with nokia phones are kinda slow so i don't get bothered with 5230 having no wifi... Even though the phone supports 3G, it doesn't have a front camera like the iphone, i guess nokia think front cams are kinda useless and from my experience, i've never actually used the front cam of any of my phones (besides having no front camera reduces the bulk of the phone or you could add other essentials in the phone.
Also, the box comes on different packages acording to your country i guess, in some countries, like malasia and the philippines, the back cover has a stylus, there is a very short data cable included and an additional 2gb memory card stored in it are the maps and leaves 1.4gb free space. Other countries like the ones in europe come with the same package as the review by having no stylus at the back cover, usb cable and even the memory card.
With my experiences with the phone i find that it is a very good phone to use although it has some issues that needs to be fixed. First of all, is the contacts bar, its very hard to control because sometimes when i try to slide it, instead of sliding the contacts, it selects the contact that i've pressed. second, there are times where u need to tap an item twice before it registers... which is kinda weird because i have to wait for about 2 seconds before i realize that i need to tap it again. Third, the scroll bar needs to be widened...Finally, can the caps lock be moved to the right side, because it can be easily pressed by accident

bill, 01 Jan 2010i am experiencing a problem with this phone, but there is a... moreBattery full capacity will be reached after several charges. You didnt need to format it, therefore if you unplugged the phone after 2 hrs, when it said baterry charged, you did fine.
However the problem with the fast loss of battery:
- see if you have 3G activated too. If you have it, and not only GSM, and you live in an area where it cant find the signal, it will continue looking for it, and will deplete your battery very fast. Try switching to GSM only for a few days and see how it goes.
- another issue could be with your operator and the software of the phone. This problem has been found before with Samsung S5230 and operator Cosmote (the greek operator, being present in more european countries): samsung 5230 & cosmote were not compatibile, due to the band in which cosmote operates, and result was that battery was depleted completely in less than 2 days, while with Vodafone it lasted up to 7 days. Problem was solved in the end with a software update. Therefore, if you can, please try a SIM from another operator and see if it does the same.
5230 baterry should last around 4 days without any problem, on normal usage.

i am experiencing a problem with this phone, but there is a high possibility that the fault is completely mine! i bought this phone 4 days ago as a present to myself...i read on reviews that the battery could actually last aproximately up to 3.5 - 4 days with normal usage. I read the manual before using the phone, and said that the first charge should be enough when the phone indicates that the battery is fully charged! As far as i know the first charge should last about 10 - 12 hours. When i started charging the phone it showed that it was fully charged at about 2 hours!! So i stopped charging it. The phone now can barely last 48 hours with less than normal usage!! The first 24 hours the battery indication shows that it is full (7 out of 7 bars) but then in the next 12 - 15 hours is slowly runs completely out of battery!!!!!...is it normal that it runs out so quickly ( perhaps coz the battery needs some time to reach its full capacity) or is it completely my fault?

Please note.... This phone has 3G, but that is restricted to internet access. NOT for video calling. I spent a couple of days running around all Nokia priority stores in Pune, India, but all said exactly the same. None could show me the Video Calling feature. I was made to understand that the HSDPA connection was purely for data....
Finally purchased the 5800.... Which in any case is an excellent phone....
