5130XM is an older model. PC suite 6 was released before the release of 5233, so it will not recognise 5233. Try the latest nokia pc suite or nokia ovi suite. Connecting in mass storage mode may allow you to access mmc without upgrading pc suite.

btw i have bought a 2gb mmc & a card reader(i think it has plug-n-play). the problem is when i insert the reader in usb port in my pc, it shows "usb device not recognised/unknown device). i have tried many times in different ports, tried uninstalling the driver software but all in vain.
plz help asap.
another problem. i installed nokia pc suite 6 from a friend's cd which he got with 5130 xp music. opened the sync option, followed the wizard, selected cable mode, connected 5233 to usb via the data cable(given with it) but then another wizard opens which tells me to insert another cd(i don't know which one) & the installation lastly fails.
plz reply asap.

i want to know what you meant by "insertion cycles". is it the times the mmc is inserted/taken out from the port in the card reader? if i use it as a pen drive, i mean it remains permanently in the card reader & never taken out (but inserted/taken out in pc or dvd player) then what would be its life-cycle?
plz reply soon.

Anonymous, 31 Jan 2011very sorry to say that i am a newbee in case of pc. can you... morePlug n play means that you won't have to instal any software(drivers) for a specific hardware to work on a system which is new to it. ie it uses a universal driver that would already be present in your pc or dvd player. These days most plug-in peripherals like pendrives, mouse, keyboards and card readers support plug n play.

Sbdevilmind, 31 Jan 2011The reason I suggested you to use memory card was because o... moreThe reason why an mmc would seem to be more durable than a pen drive because the mmc is hardly taken out of its slot while a pen drive would have to go through thousands of insertion cycles. Once you start to use an mmc like a pen drive the life of mmc may actually be much lower than that of pen drives. They both have similar read/write cycle lives but the insert cycle life of most mmcs are 10000, in practical terms it might be much lower than that.
