i bought the black version a week ago...looks really good...much better than the red one...has got a good Camera(pictures taken in the night are not so good...sound quality is good...head set provided is just ok.....but nokia have provided another jack to connect regular head sets( ths really cool).....as with any multimedia phone the battery life is average....its bundeled wth 256 mb mini sd card...and a USB cable...fr Rs 7300 its really cool....i recommend thsi phone...

I have this phone and tho I really like it a LOT, some things are bugging me and I tried going thru the comments and a general Google search to get them but couldn't. If anyone could help me with:
1. I have set the security code so I need to type it in each time it's locked. At times the blue light on the keypad comes on and mostly it doesn't. What is the trick to get this right? Imagine wanting to do something in the middle of night but you can't cause the chances of your punching the right code in the dark are pretty remote esp. without the keypad lit up in that nice blue color.
2. The display remains lit up for a very long time.

hi guys.. For all the bad comments about nokia 5300, all i can say is just shut up! if you have negative comments to say, just dont say it the wrong way.It looks like you're not respecting NOKIA. Sorry for that. :D It is only in the way you handle the phone. If you're clumpsy, if you know, then just dont doubt on not buying the phone... All phones has it's disadvantages.. even the the greatest or most expensive one.. I'm not saying that this phone is the greatest. I'm just trying to balance comments here..... PEACE ALL!!!

This is a Great phone.I bought it 2 weeks ago.It has amazing sound quality and a nice 1.3 mp camera ! It's sooo coool !

gka3000 your sickly wrong.
s.e walkman is going to town on xpress music, if anything the walkman series is just laughing. if anything the ony place nokia is dominating is in the business phones like the E series. but s.e walkman are truly better.
in australian dollars at the moment it is $350 if i recall correctly

The faster way to turn off the backlight after you've locked the keypad is to press the middle button also known as the OK button once.Now the power saver option takes place.

ahhh the nokia 5300 xpress music the first of the xpress music series which blowed out the brains of sony ericsson walkman fans still the phone stays strong on the market well done ...
and now we have 5700 , 5310 , 5610 xpress music i dont think nokia will stop ... s.e.w. time to put on ur baby pants back on ha ha ha ...

oh i see! but i got this phone from a friend! anyway tnx for the help! one thing i dont want with this phone...this phone have a low life battery! i charge it everyday... i thought it long last up to 2 day.

xin yue - u can change the back easily but in my time i have never seen someone change the front housing. battery life goes 1-2 days(maybe 3 if u dont use it at all)
quiksliver - so even when the night mode is on it is totally green??? if thats the case i would go and use ur warranty on the phone and get them to repair it.

a tip for keeping its battery at its best last.....as soon after you lock it off....just press the red button 2-3 times ....as result the light would be turned off.....thereby not juicing up the battery..otherwise the screen will remain lighted up for 30-35 seconds....which is surely gonna affect the battery life...i tried that ....and believe me ..it lasted 3 days without even looking at the charger....try this...thankx

i am seriously thinking of buying this phone.i think this is pretty and it suits me.plus i like the red color.can one easily change housing?how long does the battery last?

This is fantastic phone. I've had mine 2 weeks and I love it. Intuitive to use and with a 2GB microSD its brilliant, a phone ipod memory stick all in one. I even love how bulky it is with the crystal case on, like a swiss army nife!

LEECIPHER - this has dedicated music keys, so essentially is more user friendly if u r a common music player user. this has 1.3 mp camera the other only has vga(epic difference).
it shames nokia though that the supposedly better performing phone has not as good battery to the model that is aimed at a cheaper target market. that is embarrasing
