its been a couple of days since i bought this phone.. and i shud say, its worth the money.. you get a whole lot of features for a reasonable sum.. the audio quality is great. the battery lasts for 1.5 days... many have complained abt the battery... yes. but that wont be a prob if u charge it regularly. better
sound clarity than sony w200 and w300..
all i wud say is.. if u guys had a choice between sony and nokia in the range 7000 to 9000 rs.. go for nokia 5300.. its a great handy and funky phone.

is that the battery is rubbbish ! because now i want to buy nokia 5300. the battery is very bad/poor mar? give me some opinion !

This is the best phone I have ever had. I love it. It sounds great, looks great and workd great. I get a lot of compliments on it and I enjoy listening to the radio on it as well. My friend with a sidekick III is jealous because my phone sounds much better. Tee hee :D And you can talk while its closed, but you have to go through the speaker phone first to do that. Once you close it, you can still talk on it if you switch to headset.

This phone sucks i bought it about 2 montha ago and it work for about a week then it kept turning its self off i took it back and got a 6280 there at least $100 cheaper and much better features and way better cam also comes with 256 megabyte micro SD the 6280 is AWWSOME dont get the 5300

I've had my Nokia 5300 for about 2 months now. I used to have a Samsung D600 but it broke, I used to love that phone! Wanting to stick to slider phones it was between the RIZR & Nokia 5300. I don't trust Motorola phones anymore so I went for the Nokia.
I love this phone, not as much as my Samsung. I do feel like I've upgraded myself getting this phone.
Goods:
- Listening to music while being able to do other things on the phone is awesome. Couldn't do that with my Samsung.
- Camera is very nice.
- Voice clarity is amazing on this phone.
- Not heavy or bulky.
- I love the fact that you can download and install themes on it, you can even create your own themes.
- You can set .mp3s as ringtones.
- Video for caller ID purpsoes is fun too. Watch a little video when someone calls you. He he.
Not-so-goods:
- Battery life, very bad.
- Camera is good for pictures outside but trying to take pictures inside, not a good idea. Plus, it doesn't have a flash.
- Personally, I don't like the fact that the phone doesn't automatically lock the keys when you slide it down.
- It freezes quite often. Specially when on IM (Instant Messenger(s)). Once it freezes and reboots itself, for some odd reason, the sound goes nuts. People call and I hear no ringtone or alarm tone. I have to shut it off myself and turn it back on... ???
- After using the music player, the same thing happens! No ringtones or alarm tone... ???
There goes that. Hope my 2cents are helpful for someone out there.

i love my phone.. its so handy.. :)
and i love downloading themes..
also, my prob is my batt., i always end up charging it everyday for 3 hours! gosh!

I got this phone primarily for two reasons;
1-Carrying both an Ipod and a phone around can be quite burdensome, so I needed a music machine on my phone.
2-I wanted my bible and a few other applications on my phone; of course, this phone fit the bill.
Problem however is the battery life. It's crappy for such a great phone.The other issue, which though is not so much of a problem is that the speakers are located at the back of the phone!!!!!!!!! A dumb idea for such a smart phone.
I've only had this phone for two weeks and truly hope I find no more faults. On the whole, I think it's a great phone and if the battery issue can be resolved, then all the other problems will take a class way below tertiary.

yah! this mobile accept sony ericsson hear phone. but the battery life is very poor.

I had this phone, and the sound is great with the earphones but the battery life is rubbish! I'm not sure about you lot, but i love my music and for me i thought it was the perfect phone but i did find myself charging it daily. Also it froze on me a couple of times, theres only one game which wasn't great,when you play music loud it gets muffled, and then it got corrupted some how? But now i got the Samsung E840 which is BRILLIANT!

there is no new battery for this phone. lovely phone, beautiful features, but the battery is not good. 6230i lasts 4 or 5 days, this last under one day.

Nice phone, but battery lifes not good, but thats what you expect from the BL-5B battery.
Hate to say sound qualities not that great. O also don't understand why they put the speaker on the back... when you put the phone on its back and play music on its speaker it gets disorted.

nokia walkman phone, great for new walkman phone users. if you set you profile as a quick menu just select your normal profile and activate to stop the ringtone from going back to the default. i had the same prob. 8/10
