there is a newer version of spb mobile shell( 3.7.0) and now the interface takes all the screen( full screen mode as they call it). so you will be able to say byebye to the ugly, bulky status bar at the top when in both lifestyle and professional home screens

I'm still using the same good old version... I don't know whether they've used a new version...
Having Transition effects using c2z, c2zbin and kastorUI is not really simple as it sounds... You can get c2zbin and kastorUI patches from dotsis as well as any other symbian based website... But c2z you have to make the patch by your own... For that there's a software called c2z maker.exe.. You can download it from those symbian web sites.. (I think dotsis also has it.. But I got it from dailymobile(dot)com...)
After that you have to download particular theme effect packages... (Dotsis and other symbian websites have so many of those... I'm tired of trying one by one... They all look nice and I don't know what to select... Finally I ended up with 'Dejavu' which is more or less like 'Satio' default theme effect...)
After downloading the particular theme effect package you have to copy it to C:resources folder (please read about those before you do...).. In order to do that you have to have 'open 4 all' patch temporarily activated... You should apply c2z, c2zbin & kastorUI patches (set them to auto.. NO problem..) and restart the phone.. (before that theme effects should be on..)
Now you'll enter to a wonderful world of beautiful effects...! (Some of above procedure will cause problems.. Problems which can be solved only if you do your home work and reading well enough..)

You're right when you say 'There are only very few applications' that we can't use in an unhacked phone...
BUT..
hacking is not only for installing applications... It's something only 'Install server' patch does... There are so many other patches that do so many other things..
For an example... 'Remove call recorder tone' patch completely remove the beep when recording phone calls... No distortion nothing... We can record phone calls without ANY sort of a disturbance or beep... (There are 3rd party applications which can do that but the recordings are not that quality...)
and with the patches C2z, C2zbin & Kastor we can achieve very nice transition theme effects in our phones... If you've seen 'Sony Ericsson Satio' theme effects you'll know what I'm talking about.. We can have Iphone theme effects, android theme effects as well as satio theme effects including particles floating on the screen bla bla...
Using short multi tap patch we can increase our SMS typing speed significantly...
There are many many more... I only mentioned about the patches I'm currently using... Still discovering for more potential...

Indeed RAMblow is a very nice application... But it has complications with ROMpatcher 'open 4 all' patch... So if you use 'open 4 all' patch so often and have set it to 'auto' then that'll be a problem with RamBlow... (To over come that exit from RAMblow whenever you want to use 'open 4 all' patch... and don't set it to auto..)
and you know, you have to use RAMblow smartly... The applications you use often can be marked as 'protected' then those will not be cleaned.. You can do it by pressing 'options' and then 'toggle protection'.. For me, I have marked 'menu', 'contacts', 'home screen', 'messaging' and my favorite music player as 'protected'... So that when ever I tell it to 'clean' it'll clean everything else not the protected ones... (Otherwise it'll take time to re-load those applications to the RAM..)
and remember not to set 'automatic clean up'.. always clean the RAM manually...
For me, RamBlow serves like a charm... No hangs, No restarts... Nothing...

we cannot catch what you have said... do you mean that when you tried to play a video coming from youtube your 5530 cannot play the file try to convert it first to 3gp format

pls somone should help me cos am getting confused.... i hacked my phone yesterday and after 10mins my phone shut down and refused to come on again. pls wat should i do? someone should pls help me.... Nuwan Abeg ooooooooooooo help... am sending it for flashing now but how do i hack it again after flashing?

ya its nice idea. most of the newly released android phones have swype pre-installed on it. one another thing which is not so good is, it consume about 6/7mb ram.
speaking of ram, i used to have RAMblow on my handset it worked fine for a while. it used to free about 3/4 mb ram. but after 2weeks later, every time i tried to free ram, it hangs and restarts itself. i haven't tried it on v31 firmware. i have to restart my handset at least once every two weeks anyway(like you said as well "Restarting the phone once a week or once in two weeks is highly advisable" and i'm doing it regularly since i bought it). so i thought what's the point installing it?
but after reading the discussion here about it, i'm thinking about trying it. let's hope it will work this time around.

don't worry, just take your phone to Nokia Care, they'll probably just take the phone not the memory card, like Nuwan said just tell them that the phone won't turn on and nothing more, they'll flash your phone. I don't think there's anyother way. Cause unlike previous Nokia phones there's no way for TRUE Hard Reset for our device, thanks to all touch buttons.
Unfortunately asking them to flash with v20 of firmware - that would sound weird to them when v31 is already there, and i doubt that they'll agree.
Unhakced phone ain't that bad. Mine is Unhacked as well. There are only a few apps that you cannot install.

No no.. You don't have to buy another memory card brother... Just give the phone back to Nokia care center and they will fix it for you.. You may loose your hack but you can hack it again... Right...? (Tell them - Nokia guys - not to update your firmware and you can do it by yourself..)
One more thing... You don't have to say that you hacked your phone bla bla to the Nokia care center... (You get what I'm saying... Right..?)
I kind of feel that 'hacking' is not for you brother... You better be happy with 'signing' only.. Hacking seems to give you so many troubles...

i already tried removing the memory card and turn on Francesca but same thing happened. white screen, then a green stripes, a red stripes, get back in white and turns off..
now i have to go to the mall and get my self a memory card. im just afraid that i might still not be able to access francesca after memory card format

I'm sorry for your trouble with 'flipfont' and yes you can hard reset your mobile... Or if you have installed 'Flipfont' to the memory card, you can turn on your mobile by just removing the memory card from the phone... (later you can put it in again...)
If you've not updated it to V30, you can hard reset the phone and then again hack it...

Dear all my friends who have hacked their phones,
Using c2z.rmp, kastorUI.rmp & c2zbin.rmp I'm discovering so many wonderful things in my 5530... So many great transition effects.. Please search in youtube for such videos of transition effects on nokia touch screen mobiles... (You better search 'c2z effects on 5800' for more results...)
But still having some troubles... Doing trial and error now...

If you want to connect using wifi. Go to Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> WLAN Wizard. Just choose a wifi connection with no "Padlock" icon. A wifi connection with padlock icon it means it has security, it needs a password or code. I hoped I haved helped you with your problem.
