Yes.. I agree with you regarding Anti Virus programs. However when some Anti Virus programs provide so many features than being just an Anti Virus solution, then for the sake of those features, we have to consider them... Right..?
The best example is... My Nokia 5530's start up was way too slow and I knew there are so many Auto Start up programs that I can't control.. There was no such software I could find either..
But when I installed NetQin, then only I realized I've got more than 25 start ups (Oops... Yeah.. It's true..) and then NetQin can block them... Then I made use of that feature and you know what...? After disabling unwanted start ups now my mobile restarts within a minute like a charm...!
And thank you very much for your list of applications...
I already have most of them... But never had this "widgetizer" and I gave it a try and found out that it's an awesome application...! Now using it and still discovering the potentials... Takes about 6 MB RAM and great amount of processing... But still, it's a great piece of software..! Finally we can have our own gadgets on our Nokia 5530 just like Nokia N97...!

i want to update my firmware to the latest v31..., mine is v20....i checked by the *#0000# code nnd checked fort updates but it says there r no updates available, i m in bahrain rite now..please help!!:O!

ive heard that nokia phones bought in the US are always late for firmware updates. i think that 5800 users there are still stuck at v30

people are just wasting their time with AntiVirus apps cause no virus has been reported on OS9.4 so far.

Hi, I bought Nokia 5530 Xpress Music in United States few months ago. I live in India and I am trying to upgrade to the new firm ware. In Nokia websites, it shows new firmware V30.0 is release. But I could not able to upgrade. I tried with *#0000# and also via Nokia phone updater. Both options says no updates available. Can some help me here..

i want to make a lock code on my nokia 5530
for the lock code i click 12345 code
after that i've choosen my own new code and verify new code . But its code error . why ? i have been tried more than 10 times . frustrating :(

In order to update your firmware,
Go to Menu - Settings - Phone - Phone Management - Device updates
Then click options,
and select 'Check for updates'
It'll ask for internet connectivity and will take some time to check... Then it'll prompt whether there is an update available or not... If there is one, you can update it by just clicking 'OK'
That's all... very simple...

Pretty much same brother... Both are working greatly and smoothly... Though I kind of feel that 5530 responses bit smoother than 5800... But it could be due to newer hardware than 5800... May be it's just what I feel.. I don't know for sure...

You have a point there... When somebody asks,
'Is it really necessary to have an Anti Virus for Nokia 5530?' then my direct answer is 'No'
BUT... When I recommend 'NetQin Anti Virus' and 'NetQin Mobile Guard' it's not because they prevent our mobile from Viruses... There are so many other reasons...
** Start Up Control (Boosting the Start up of the mobile)
** Spam Cleaning (Search and delete the unnecessary temp, cache files stored in phone memory sometimes giving us several MB capacity)
** Black list/white list facilities (To block unwanted calls)
** Internet usage control (We can control our internet usage and reduce our monthly bill)
** Mobile Firewall (Very useful when you don't trust some applications)
** Uninstaller (Normally when you have more than 100 third party applications, the default uninstaller wouldn't work any more... Then this will be a good alternative)
** Task manager (You can see what are the programs running in background and you can terminate unwanted ones)
** OS Scan (Scan your mobile for possible performance reductions and give recommendations)
** Disk manager & File manager (Does the same thing as X-plorer or Y-browser)
So additional to above all, we get an Anti Virus too..!
So what do you think my friend...? Isn't it worth to have those two software....?

by the way the price is 12690 cash, install for 13500
where as 5530 is 11,000 installment for 6mths

i remember the days of 6600 when every one wanted an antivirus on their phone but as for ^1 phones, i never heard of virus infected ones

this is a good fone as compare 2 5800xm if u nat mention camera and screen. i m using this phone frm last 1 month and i have no prob with this. camera is superb in day light condition and usefull in night mode..... draw back is taht u cannot off the camera sound and flash.music oh godddddd amzing through head phones and enjoyin wid loudspeakers....... no xcuse about battery i use nearly 4 hour net 2 hour music on headfones and nearly 1 hour calling with one charge. its more handy than 5800xm here i want point out that i m also user of 5800 but i like to use 5530 becaz of its size and slim design....... THATS ALL ! ANY QUESTION??

If you get the error message 'file is not supported' then you can't do anything about it... It's not supported... That's it..
But if it's a word, zip, PDF file or something similar then you can use 3rd party applications installed in your mobile to open them...
