skud, 08 Aug 2010thank you buddy for the info,here is the thing, we are usin... moreDear skud,
I think you haven't followed my reply well...
I mentioned the firmware updates availability is depended upon the service provider the mobile is INTENDED to be used.. (Not the service provider it's currently using...)
Get what I'm saying...?
So, I think your mobile has been intended to use for a network that your girl friend's mobile hasn't...
However, most probably the same firmware support for those particular mobiles will be available within next few weeks... So tell her not to worry...
Good luck friend... (I'm happy both of you're using this beauty.. Give her my regards brother...)

It's me bro.
Dear brother,
hi! it's b... moreDear brother Jett,
I don't know whether I'll be able to answer each and every question of yours brother... But I will try my best...
Yeah.. as you said, Nokia N8 is far better than any other Nokia phone so far.. (Without any doubt, it's the best from Nokia...) and it'll be a flag ship release for Nokia definitely..
I'm not going to talk so many things about N8 here as this is not the right place... Instead, I've posted so many posts in Nokia N8 page, so you can go there and have a look... Very briefly I can list few fantastic features of Nokia N8...
* USB On the Go
* 12 MP extraordinary camera (with biggest sensor size for a mobile camera ever)
* HDMI
* Symbian 3
* Wifi b/g/n
* Bluetooth 3
* FM Transmitter
* Xenon flash
* Gorilla glass
* Paging support 512 MB Rom
* Dolby sound
* DivX support
* AMOLED Second generation screen
* Aluminum casing
Wonderful thing is, most of above features are seen in a Nokia mobile for the VERY FIRST TIME...! So it'll be totally amazing..!
So, without any doubt it's worth to buy... According to GSMarena Nokia N8 will be 370 Euro.. (I don't know from where they've got this price tag...!) and for such a wonderful phone above price is too cheap...! My reasonable price for it is around 420 Euro.. But we'll see about it..
So many times I have listed the software which can be installed in unhacked phones.. I'm afraid I don't have that list now... However you can always visit our beloved website, www(dot)dotsis(dot)com for any application you want... Right...?
I really don't know what would Nokia Care center do when you bring your mobile there to be updated.. So I really can't answer those question you asked.. But I really don't think that they will like the idea that your phone is 'hacked' (I doubt most of those people know anything about 'hacking' anyway...!)
Update through 'Over the Air' is very very simple... and I don't understand why you get it as too complicated.. It doesn't even have any steps to follow... Just press the button 'update' and it'll be done within 10 minutes at most...
I think whole body of Nokia N8 has been made out of Aluminum... (Except the plastic cover of HDMI) Even the hardware buttons (camera buttons etc....) are made out of Aluminum.. So you don't have to worry about 'fading' as such...
I guess I replied every question of yours...

Sajib, 07 Aug 2010i recently bought 5530XM phone from dubai. I've 3 quest.
... moreDear Sajib,
Answers for your questions as far as I know,
1)
I've too seen this method of finding the 'made in country' by using the IMEI no of the mobile.. Previously I also thought it's true... But now I don't.. (I think it's just a sick joke of someone that so many people get caught...!) If your mobile has the label 'made in Hungary' very clearly then you don't have to worry about anything else.. It's made in Hungary and I'm pretty sure about it..
2)
Yeah.. The indoor camera quality of 5530 is very very poor... Even with the flash light it's terrible... So it's not relevant to your hand set... Every 5530 has the same problem... (I think most of Nokia mobiles has the same problem regarding indoor or low light condition photos..)
3)
You can use 'Quick Office' as the document viewer and 'adobe mobile reader' as PDF reader.. If you don't mind some extra cost, you can genuinely buy the full versions of those... If you can't afford that much, then you can still use 'cracked' versions of those.. But you'll have to sign them together with particular cracks and install them... (Regarding 'signing symbian software' you can research in google..)
Note: I'm using above two software without any problem in my mobile.. (That's more information)

Sehan, 07 Aug 2010Nuwan,
what is the different between Unsigned & Sig... moreDear Sehan,
Unsigned Software: You have to sign them first in order to install them in your phone. (Unless your phone is hacked)
Signed Software: If a software is signed for your mobile, then most probably you can install it without getting any error message.
The fact is same about HelloOX2 too...
Hope I answered your question...

The LINE OUT option:
When you plug a 3.5 mm jack into the 5530, you will be made to choose between Headphones and Line Out. If you need a more powerful sound like if you use external portable speakers, use this. The sound is BOOSTED. This is an excellent feature of the 5530 that really highlights its function as a Music Phone. Great feature really.

i've updated my 5530 firmware to ver 31.0.005 this morning and so far found 3 changes until now.
1. default web browser ver updated to 7.2.5.2 from 7.2.3 and it's little bit faster while browsing and not sure about this but looks like it consume less ram :)
2. i'm frm nepal so while setting the time zone to nepal standard time which should be GMT + 5:45hr but it was showing GMT + 1hr. it's fixed now.
3. and lastly about 2mb more ram is freed.
haven't noticed any other changed other that this.
cheers

It's me bro.
Dear brother,
hi! it's been a while.
hope everything's fine.
thanks for this quick response brother.
so you are now aiming for the N8 huh! you know what honestly speaking bro I'm starting to like as well.
been doing several reviews about it, just don't know well yet about symbian 3 and n8 but seeing the UI and features thru youTube makes the phone far beyond 5530 right?
haha! this is cool maybe the best.
well if you can remember i can't have my 5530 before due to an incident right bro. and now that i can i became hesitant upon knowing about this one.(actually I've been considering this phone even before i read your comment).
can you tell me more this n8 bro.
i just wonder how much this will cost in the Philippine market, you know, money wise...
in case you have an idea regarding it's price do you think it's fair enough?
if it will be costly than i am thinking then I'd still choose 5530. but you think it's still a wise decision after n8's release?
haha sorry for this 2 many questions. money matters.
anyway brother going back to vivaz.
since my girl is just getting familiar to her new phone can you suggest applications(games, antivirus, the useful ones(apps) etc...) that she can install in her 'unhacked' unit.
as for my other question.
ok, if you bring your phone to the care center for software update what they do basically is hard reset then update?(no more things other than that?)
so it's ok if i just update over the air and do not hard reset my unit? wouldn't i miss anything if i do not hard reset before the updating process?
and sorry for this stupid question isn't updating over the air process isn't complicated as hacking process i see it is?
Thank you very much brother... hear from you soon. :)
and oh is that shiny metal like thing appear to be a frame on n8's screen made of copper? and coated with silver just like 6300's navigation arrows? 'cos mine's already fading as i am acidic.
thank you!!

the screen is kind of small for a fully touch screen phone. It cant even accomodate the whole width of the webpage. Also, the pictures in the net don't auto focus. It stays pixelated. Made a review about the 5530 @ http://www.oflodor.com/gadget_review_nokia_5530_xpressmusic/
