There is a pre-loade voice recording feature in 5530.Which u will find in the default menu folder as Recorder...But there is no pre-loaded call recorder in this handset...But certainly you can install third party software from various websites...I will recomment you the ultimate voice recorder...A wonderful call and voice recorder software both in Amr & Wav format...You can download this software from Mobile9.com Hope it helps...

i can tell, from my humble 40days experience, that this phone is absolutly amazing,let us forget about all the features and cool specifications that this phone does have,behind all this you have a NOKIA phone guys,for me that's enough cause actually i don't believe too much in other companies(NB:made in fineland for sure )

i recently bought 5530XM phone from dubai. I've 3 quest.
1.
There is seen "made in hungry" in hungryan language in the back sticker.
The "7th and 8th digit number of this phone's "IMEI" shown "04".
So, is it really made in hungry...??? Does the "hungryan manufacturing" code is "04"...????
2.
Camera of my 5530Xm is so poor quality. Picture is not clear. I've tried every option of camera but in a room or home the picture is so bad quality.But in sunlight the pic is so nice of view.
So, Is this Problem of camera only for my phone...???? or every phone has this problem...??????
3.
This phone has no preloaded "document and pdf viewer".
But i need to read "document and pdf" file to read in my 5530XM.
So, pls tell me where i can find the "Free document and pdf reader" software for my 5530XM phone...?????
Pls "Nowan" or someone ans to me to help me to using this phone.

Yeah... There is some reason behind this... Actually the availability of firmware updates is depended on the 'service provider' that the phone intended to serve with.. Normally this doesn't have such connection with where your phone is made of.. (For an example my mobile is 'made in Hungary' and I could update it to the newest firmware that is V 31 but your girlfriends 'made in Hungary' phone couldn't do it...)
When releasing an update, Nokia announces for which models it is applied..
Here is the information on the back plate of my mobile.. (Behind the battery cover)
FCC ID: LJPRM-504X
IC: 661E-RM504
But this will not be matched with your girl friend's 5530's information at the same place.. (Though it's made in same country...)
You better check in internet whether V31 is available for your girl friend's model.. If it's not listed, then I'm sorry.. She'll have to wait some more time..
But I can say this too... As this is a minor update, she wouldn't feel a difference... For me, I couldn't identify any big change (or jump) from V 30 to V 31...

Well... Lots of people who're using Nokia smart phones don't know anything about 'hacking'
It's not because it's so complicated.. (Well.. it's not) It's because some people are bit lazy to discover thus they don't find what they should have...
OK.. This could be the 20th time I'm going to describe what 'hacking' is... But this time I'm going to do it very briefly.. (anyone interested, can search in google and find more...)
** Hacking is just a software installation and it doesn't do anything related to hardware... and the software changes are not permanent either..
** It's completely reversible procedure so anyone has nothing to worry...
** It does some changes to certain 'locked' or rather 'restricted' files in Symbian OS which prevent you doing certain things.. (For an example, if you have ever received the error messages 'certificate error', 'constraints by the certificates', 'certificates have been expired' etc... then that is because the default restrictions of Symbian OS...)
** You hack your mobile means you remove those restrictions... (rather it allows you to be capable of removing those restrictions if you want..) For an unhacked phone, you can't remove those restrictions what so ever..
** Most of people who have heard about this 'hacking' are afraid about it because it's not a good name..! So I suggest you not to get afraid by the name itself.. I know it's a weird name.. That's why I want to change that name as 'brightening'
** There are ways of hacking and most popular way is using 'HelloOX2' software.. (You can find it in internet...)
** Some Symbian Smart mobiles can't be hacked.. Some mobiles can be hacked but with certain firmware only... (For an example, Nokia 5530 V 20 can be hacked but V 30 can't be...)
OK... I think that's enough for a beginning... Now let me describe what are the advantages of this so called 'hacking'
** You can install almost any relevant Symbian software without getting any error message
** You can view hidden folders and you can edit the files inside of them
** You can use ROM Patcher patches to achieve wonderful things
(Eg: enabling disabling features like Bluetooth, Wifi etc... enabling disabling 'Settings', 'Phonebook', 'SMS' etc.., Removing the 'beep' when recording calls, Removing camera shutter sound...)
Very briefly... You can do almost anything which you previously thought you can't achieve with Symbian OS due to it's restrictions...
But ONLY...
If you're Keen to do it.. and Want to do it... and lucky enough to have a hackable phone with a hackable firmware...

Please Let me know, out of them whose music quality and is better? and which one is louder? I love quality music since I'm a music lover.
