hi. i am planning to buy nokia touch screen phone, and a little bit confused to decide which one should i buy. i noticed that the talk time of 5530 XM is just 4hrs!! is it so? can anyone please tell about the battery timing of it.

I am planning to buy N5530xm, I heard that it has problems like often restarting the cell automatically while making or receiving calls. Can you suggest me any good model in same range and same features.And is good to buy mobile like N5530Xm in Seconds.

Are you sure about what you're saying...? Because I didn't face such a problem after the update... Anyway there is another firmware update now... V 31... You may try that and check whether the problem has been solved... Or you can even re-install the firmware again...
If nothing works, then you may want to go to a Nokia care center for help...
One more thing... Are you sure that your memory card is functioning properly...? You can check it by connecting the phone to your computer as 'Mass Storage' and then trying to play those video files from the computer...
If they're not played in computer then there must be something wrong in your memory chip.. and the problem has nothing to do with firmware update...

Yeah... N900 is a great mobile.. But it's not as appealing as 5530... (I only meant the look... and it's my personal opinion..) However performance wise, I think your choice is great... I have heard so many people talks about N900 browsing experience is awesome...
However I've got this suggestion for you... (It's just a suggestion... OK...) Why don't you wait until N8 releases...? (Just like I do...) First of all, it has better features than N900... and most importantly it's very very good looking than bulky N900... It's the first Symbian 3 device on the market.. With fantastic features like USB on the Go (you can connect external hard drives and pen drives directly to the phone...), HDMI, Bluetooth V3, FM transmitter, Wifi B/G/N, 12 MP extraordinary camera it'll be a great device..
And it'll be on market within next 2-3 months... Why don't you use your Nokia 5530 until then and buy wonderful and good looking N8 after that...? (This is just a suggestion anyway...)

I just updated my hacked 5530 to the new firmware V 31.0.005 and so far followings are the differences I have observed... (Only 15 minutes usage)
* 0.5 MB has been reduced from phone memory
* Better memory management (Because I've got about 5 MB more free RAM)
* Most importantly phone remained hacked...!
According to the sources, it's not a major update... It is more about fixing bugs and doing some minor things.. So you should not expect huge performance difference or software changes... But I think bugs related to Typing SMS have gone now... (Hopefully...)
Let you know guys later more details...

You are right brother... There is a brand new firmware update... I actually didn't believe it when I saw your post... Because it's bit strange and the Version No has only slightly been changed... (From V 30.0.009 to V 31.0.005) But it is true...
Yeah... as per my fast experiences the phone will remained hacked if you do the firmware update without hard reseting the mobile.. Anyway, I'm going to try it now... and my phone is hacked... Will update you about the results within 15 minutes...

A new firmware of 5530xm has been released...Got a message from nokia and checked the software update and there was a surprise...A brand new firmware...Version no 31.0.005 But confused about the update weather should i update or not!Coz mine is hacked phone...And really dont want to loose it...Is it gonna be still hacked after the update???

OK... Thank you very much for your advice brother... You may sell yours if you're not satisfactory with your unit.. But I'm very satisfactory about my unit and I don't have any hope of selling it whatsoever..
By the way, do you really think it's a good idea to sell something to someone else just because you think it's defective item...? It's totally unethical...! Actually I can't do that.. If my unit is defective, I would rather keep it..
And for the record, there may be so many things out there... So many rumors.. so many stories.. May be just stories... may be stories with facts... I had this habit since I was a child... Not to believe anything because it's said so... I want to go deeper and deeper and realize whether it's true or not... Then only I could believe that...
Accordingly... if someone is telling me "My unit is giving me troubles... So many people complain too.. so Please get rid of your unit too..." I don't really think I will throw my unit away just because of that... Specially when My mobile is working Just fine the way I want... Why the hell I want to get rid of it...???

the nokia 5530 does have a GPS. i use it everyday because i have this phone myself
