I tried both NSU and OTA for more than a week. Until there was this time where I again tried OTA... then it just downloaded the firmware. My buddy also tried the same OTA update yesterday... funny it worked for his unit for just one try. Im from the Phils.

I need help how to use animated wallpaper. The .gif file works well in gallery mode but it only shows a still frame in wallpaper mode. I can't figure it out since it worked well in my old 5220XM. Is there a way around this? uhh... and yeah, animated flash files don't work too. tnx

These are modified version of firmware by developers usually providing you with optimised homescreen, pre-patched rom (ie OS is already hacked), etc.. There are different sites providing you different CFW like dailymobile forum..
Installing a firmwar is termed as flashing for which you need a flashing app on your pc/mac like JAF and you need to download the firmware package from the sites..google for more details and step wise procedure

yes there is a bug in msgin as u told... the txt gets deleted quickly upon pressing the backspace key,,
the same applies to the arrow key.. the curser keeps mooving quickly with out stoppin. have to press the ok button and start typin again

Hey everyone
Like time since I commented here, loving my Nokia 5530, though I can't seem to be able to update, tried updating through OVI, Nokia Updater just wondering if anyone else had similar problems and got around it? Is my only option to go a Nokia care centre?

my 5530XM unable to make or receive phone call. i do hard-reset and update the firmware (30.0.009) couple of days a go, but its not working and dont have any idea whats going on..could someone help me here

its simple, 5230 have 3g, while 5530 with its wifi. choose the best suit u, 3g or wifi..

i have been using this fone for 2 months and i have noticed that it has has a battery flaw...my battery does not even lasta day on normal so i charge my fone daily apart frm that camera quality isnt that good either...in low lite my camera is grainy and the result is poor..

Am fully aware of the fact that almost all 5800apps must support for 5530,,, but strangly i couldnt find it for facebook....
Almost all the links leed to ovi store where it is written "NOT SUPPORTED FOR YOUR PHONE MODEL" if you do find a link without leading to ovi stores do post it... thanks in advance

I have successfully updated my firmware and it's true, the hacked is still there and the music library of the default music player is the same now with X6. So for those who are planning to do this, don't be scared to update your 5530(for those with hacked one),all the settings also are there.
But about the bug that you found Brother in messaging, I have not noticed that thing in mine. Good to know from here so i can check if there is.
For the mean time, i'm enjoying my lovely 5530 and my friends are so jealous with the applications that i've installed here.
