Hei brother... Don't worry about updating the firmware to the latest... All the software you've installed, all the private data including messages and contacts etc, every personalized settings will be preserved... And more than anything... Your phone will remain HACKED even after the firmware update...! (Thanks to UDP - User Data Protection of Nokia)
I had installed more than 100 of 3rd party applications in my Hacked V 20 Nokia 5530 and updated it OTA (Over the Air - that means through the phone without connecting it to the computer...) to the V 30 and it was completely successful...!
Remember not to 'Hard Reset' your mobile before or after the update if you want it to remain hacked...
Remember not to 'Unhack' or 'hack again' using HelloOX2 because it's already hacked...
I'm enjoying my Hacked V 30 updated 5530 and it's just awesome...!

Chester cheta, 19 Jun 2010and another thing is the 5530 better or the 5630 xm in the ... moreDear Chester cheta,
Nokia 5630 Xpress Music has louder volume than 5530 but Quality wise 5530 wins... On the other hand 5630 is not so loud as 5220 which is a very basic mobile...!
And yeah... When you're in a noisy environment, listening to music through 5530 will not be that satisfactory to you... Specially ear piece of the phone is not loud as it should be... (Hence I always use the headset when answering phone calls...)
But once more, the Music Quality and Voice Quality is great... NO doubt about it... 5630 can't come near to 5530 in terms of Music Quality... But if you're not desperately looking for a Touch Screen mobile, then 5630 also will be a very good choice..

Just wondering what the upgrade with music player is in V30. I've thinking about upgrading to v30. So i have to ask you guys who already upgraded to v30, if these problems have been solved. The problems i've encountered so far with the previous versions are:
a. Mobile Nokia player doesn't load the album art on some of the music tracks i've uploaded
b. Mobile Nokia player doesn't recognize the artist... so the track goes to the Unknown artist section.
Lovin' the volume so far and no hangups... i don't even need comparison with it's older 5800 brother.. I use A4Tech in-ear earphones... and you barely hear a vehicle honking at you when you've got the volume at maximum.

Arian, 19 Jun 2010Why should i hack my 5530XpressMusic?
Isn't it bad 4 the phone ?well... because you get to have most of the goodies (apps and games)without ever signing a single certificate. The "stock" unit doesn't have it all.. You have to Pimp your mobile to make it different from the rest. :)Never had to do a hard reset so far. The apps i've been enjoying so far:
SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5
Fingerprint Scan Lock/Unlock
Mobile Suit (sort of the MSOffice Mobile Version)
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Full Symbian and Java Games
and lots more...
still waiting for the full version of Imelo Music Player and SPB Mobile Shell v5. (try checking out these apps and see what you've been missin')
Still thinking if HelloOx 2.03 mobile hack can handle it if I upgrade to firmware version 30.

Caila Ocampo, 19 Jun 2010how did my phone become fake if i bought it at the nokia st... morehi dear caila,
Maybe you should try first to update your firmware.
Sometimes it's a firmware thing that causes all your complaints.
5530's battery is really weak compared to 5800(a fact for the 5530's cheap price)
but try to put a plastic or paper fold in between the battery and the back cover.
also close any apps that are not in use. newest firmware offers up to 2 mb of free RAM
thanks to brother Nuwan for all this info.

Chester cheta, 18 Jun 2010I heard the the nokia 5800 xpress music sound volume is low... moreDear Chester cheta,
Honestly speaking Nokia 5800 Xpress Music volume is louder than Nokia 5530 Xpress Music volume... So if you think even 5800 volume is low, then 5530 volume will be lower to you...! So if you concern about sound volume rather than the Music Quality, then Nokia 5530 is not a very good choice for you... Try a mobile like Nokia 5220 which gives very very loud sound output through its 3.5 mm jack..
But, if you concern about Music Quality over volume, then Nokia 5530 rocks...! With a very good Headset you will be in heaven...! (you must buy one separately because default headset is not so good...)

Caila Ocampo, 18 Jun 2010note: personally i use "nokia 5530 xpressmusic"
... moreDear Caila Ocampo,
I am unable to agree with most of the problems you've mentioned... But still I do agree with 1st problem...! And the last problem also has a background... But the rest is unacceptable...
I think the course of all those problems (2, 3, 4, 5 & 6) is simple... You don't have the latest firmware in your mobile... If you update the firmware, then I bet you will regret of publishing above 5 problems...! (But problem No 1 will still be there...! and Problem 7 can be fixed by a piece of paper...!)
Please update your mobile and then comment...

igo, 18 Jun 2010i have found a bug in the latest SW actually.. when i type... moreDear igo,
I checked my 5530 (Updated to the latest firmware V 30) for the 'So called Bugs' of yours... But didn't find any of them in my mobile...!
So I really can't agree with your comments... May be the problem is with your mobile... May be your mobile hasn't been updated properly.. may be updating procedure has been interrupted or something... Going to the Nearest Nokia care center will be the solution for you...
And still, V 30 Rocks for me... No problem at all... I'm waiting for my mobile to 'hang' or 'restart'....! Greatest firmware version ever...

hi nuwan, 18 Jun 2010i hav seem tat u hav ben a lot helpful to most of dem hea n... moreDear brother (who asked 'hi nuwan'),
1) If you're really new to the Symbian world, then 'hacking' would be complicated to you... I suggest you to read some more about Symbian (You can use mobile forums and of course 'Google' as always...) and then you may decide whether to hack or not.. (Hacking is simple.. But it needs your confidence and some knowledge about what you're doing... Otherwise you won't get anything I say even though I describe it here...)
2) No... I'm sorry to tell you.. You can't get Smileys in Nokia Symbian Smart phones.. It's very very strange why Nokia did such a thing for their expensive smart mobiles...! But I've tried every possible way but couldn't solve this matter so far... (There are partial solutions via 3rd party software... But none of them worked just the way I want...) So it's better you get used without smileys..
3) Updating 5530 to the newest is not available for every phone...! I know that is ridiculous but it's true... Actually I have given the answer to your question already... (to another friend..) Here is that answer...:
I'm sorry about the problem of yours... Nokia has country based restrictions when updating their firmware... What you've done it correct.. (Checking the no behind the battery and search for updates...) So if it's been mentioned that the newest firmware available for your mobile is V 20 then there's no easy way of installing V 30 in your mobile...
BUT...
There is of course a difficult way...!
There are software which change the code of the phone software based.. and that will enable for you to update the firmware... But if you're OK with V 20 which is actually a fairly stable firmware version, I don't recommend you to use any software to change your phone's code and update to the latest... Because it MIGHT damage the phone.. (and I have never tried such a thing by myself... So I can not guarantee you its success anyway...) However few of my friends, who had the same problem of yours, and who were desperate to have the latest firmware, did try that way and were successful to do it without any problem...
Please google it and you'll come to know more about that...
