I must warn people that the LAG on this phone builds up to be almost unbarable. I have had this phone for about 6 month now and it is not the best. The movement between pages is incredibly slow and dont even get me started about the keypad lock switch on the side. It rarley works the way you want it.

          In Brief.
          - Realy REaly Slow
          - switch for lock unreliable
          - SOmetimes dosent switch on propaly.

I am teaking mine in for repair as it is still under warrenty and i am hopeing that i can get soem money back or atleast swap it for a diffrent phone!

          Advice- STAY AWAY

Nuwan, 27 Apr 2010Dear Jett, You must hack your mobile before the update b... moreoh! is that so.. so i really need to do it before i bring my phone for an update.
how i wish i can get the latest version in the package so my next concern would be the hacking and installing of 3rd party apps only. haha! what a lazy one.

anyway if my firmware is v20 then no problem at all.

what if let's say phone is hacked and a new firmware is out, if i updated my phone (like another folk have asked) will it remain hacked or i need to hack it again?

and wow thanks for your complete response brother. i will make sure these apps. are installed before i update my phone. by the way i don't want to do it my self. i am afraid i only get an error, then i end up bringing the unit to care center. What a hassle! :D
                so i'll just uninstall it?
but what happens after update? install it again?or hack it again?
anyway, can you name other cool apps that are ok to install after update... the threaded inbox? the torch? do you know the 'escalado', or something made by escalado company (not sure but it's an application for viewing photos) it's very cool i think that it can zoom in so clearly. the screen lock, dictionary and other cool apps.
and do we have an available voice changer?

                Thanks a lot brother!

can anyone confirm this? after firmware update, its phone memory has become dynamic. i've no installed or removed any apps/themes for 3 weeks but its internal memory keep changing. two days back it was about 42.6mb and this morning it is 50.3mb. looks like both battery and internal memory is improved.
and one another thing u realized or not? we have to download OVI store separately and it used to consume lots of internal memory ie on the previous version of firmware. but after updating to new firmware, OVI store was there pre installed so only small update is required so no extra internal memory is required.
lastly @ Nuwan: my opera mobile 10 which is latest version still not stable enough and closes itself. as you suggested few weeks back i'm using digia web now and it is stable and very good unlike skyfire consume very few ram. thanks for the help

Nuwan, 27 Apr 2010Dear Jett, So you finally made it... I can imagine how h... moreYes brother! Finally!

Very excited and happy, know it will make quite of difference since this is the first time i m having a touch phone.

so i think after the default browser my i will only look forward to Digia Web browser.
Well interface dont matter anymore long as you can use it to browse any of available websites i guess.?

actually Nuwan i read it but i dont tend to understand, really, maybe because i dont have the phone yet. haha! that's crazy.
and when i have the phone still may get nervous( on the hacking process that i might fail), though i am too interested to do so. but i will cos i want to hold the total beauty of 5530!

I've read your comment to jett regarding hacking...so,for example i will hack now and then update the firmware when the new will come, still my fone is hacked or do i need to hack it again?

cyber-shot under dog, 27 Apr 2010ah.. your an audiophile. . (yes! a person that takes music ... moreDear cyber-shot under dog,

Well... I am surely a Audiophile according to your definition... I listen to audio (through my 5530) at least 2 hours a day... (While traveling to my work place from home and vice versa...) I was looking for someone who DOES really have a MUSIC taste just like you've described.. And I'm satisfactory that you're...!

The thing is brother... We've got plenty of counterfeit products in our country and nobody can identify which is genuine... For an example, even the sound quality of counterfeits are really good...! Only problem is the durability... Genuine products you can use even for several years... But these counterfeits can only be used for several days...! Even the sellers who said to sell the genuine products, they wouldn't give us a warranty... So how can we buy something with confidence..?

I recently asked from senheizer country representative in Sri Lanka regarding this and they also told me that they can't give us a warranty...! And their price was very high too...! I'm afraid to pay that much because I don't know whether it'll work even for several months.. For Sony ear phones we don't even have a country representative I guess..!

I'm curious about "Mdr-ed12Lps" and "Mdr-ex33lp" after reading your comments... Could you please tell me how much they cost there in Philippines...? (please mention the price in US dollars...)

                                  Thank you brother...

giigz, 27 Apr 2010how can i update the firmware? please answer dis as soon as... moreDear giigz,

Go to menu - Settings - Phone - Phone management - Device updates

Then check what's the firmware version you currently have... If it's V 20 then you already have the latest version and you can't update it...

If you see a below no such as V 11 or V 12, then you must update your firmware... You can do that by pressing 'options' and 'Check for updates'

                                    Good luck brother...

Go to settings - Connectivity - Destinations and check whether there are 'Access Points' under 'internet'... If there are then you may not have the signal to your location properly...

If there are no Access points, you must create your Access points to surf internet with the help of the mobile service provider... No complex steps... Very simple...

Once you receive several messages telling 'please accept the settings' and when you press 'OK' it'll be automatically saved under 'Internet' access points...

                                      Good luck brother..

Jett, 27 Apr 2010i wanna know when might nokia release a new firmware so i c... moreDear Jett,

You must hack your mobile before the update brother... I'm telling you because Nokia's new firmwares getting even harder and harder to hack... For an example last two Nokia 5800 firmware versions (V 40 and V 50) we can't hack using HelloOX2... I'm sure helloOX2 team is working so hard on this, but after all, when they're ready to out a new version of HelloOX2 then Nokia would release another unhackable firmware update and no avail...!

So we're still lucky as our firmware version is hackable... So my advice for you is this... Hack your 5530 and install the most important software which can only be installed in hacked mobiles... (Make sure you don't install lots of applications.. Only the essential ones which essentially need a hacked mobile...) and after that update the firmware... I can't guarantee that all the software will be preserved after the update... But there's a great chance...

I updated my Nokia 5800 without hacking it and now REGRET a lot because latest firmware of 5800 (V 50) is not hackable...! (It'll take time for HelloOX2 to release a version to hack 5800... Until then, I am supposed to be satisfactory only with signed software...)

Some software you MUST need a hacked mobile to install...
                                        * Cracked version of Quick Office
                                        * Cracked version of Adobe mobile reader
                                        * Cracked version of Kaspersky mobile anti virus
                                        * Cracked version of LCG Jukebox
                                        * TTPod Music Player
                                        * 360ting Music Player
                                        * Cracked version of Mum SMS

There may be many more... But I listed only most important list... So you better hack your V 20 Nokia 5530 and install most needed ones from above list and then update the firmware..

You can uninstall HelloOX2 if you're planning to go to Nokia Care center for the update... Because I don't know whether they'll make a big issue on that... Why don't you do your update at home...? Just back up your data and give it a try brother...
