Jett, 27 Apr 2010i wanna know when might nokia release a new firmware so i c... moreDear Jett,
You must hack your mobile before the update brother... I'm telling you because Nokia's new firmwares getting even harder and harder to hack... For an example last two Nokia 5800 firmware versions (V 40 and V 50) we can't hack using HelloOX2... I'm sure helloOX2 team is working so hard on this, but after all, when they're ready to out a new version of HelloOX2 then Nokia would release another unhackable firmware update and no avail...!
So we're still lucky as our firmware version is hackable... So my advice for you is this... Hack your 5530 and install the most important software which can only be installed in hacked mobiles... (Make sure you don't install lots of applications.. Only the essential ones which essentially need a hacked mobile...) and after that update the firmware... I can't guarantee that all the software will be preserved after the update... But there's a great chance...
I updated my Nokia 5800 without hacking it and now REGRET a lot because latest firmware of 5800 (V 50) is not hackable...! (It'll take time for HelloOX2 to release a version to hack 5800... Until then, I am supposed to be satisfactory only with signed software...)
Some software you MUST need a hacked mobile to install...
* Cracked version of Quick Office
* Cracked version of Adobe mobile reader
* Cracked version of Kaspersky mobile anti virus
* Cracked version of LCG Jukebox
* TTPod Music Player
* 360ting Music Player
* Cracked version of Mum SMS
There may be many more... But I listed only most important list... So you better hack your V 20 Nokia 5530 and install most needed ones from above list and then update the firmware..
You can uninstall HelloOX2 if you're planning to go to Nokia Care center for the update... Because I don't know whether they'll make a big issue on that... Why don't you do your update at home...? Just back up your data and give it a try brother...

Jett, 26 Apr 2010hiya fellas,
been quite a while.
Nuwan and cyber-shot... moreDear Jett,
So you finally made it... I can imagine how happy you are...! And I can tell you this... I'm still excited with my mobile.. and I'm very happy that I selected that one over other mobiles... (While having a 5800 as a spare mobile, I'm telling you... I'm so happy with 5530... The main reason is the look and the feel...!)
(I also like Red - Black variant.. Both my 5530 and 5800 are in that category...)
Yeah... Version should be V 20.0.080... And made in country is not an issue as to my knowledge... After all, it's from a Nokia factory with same quality control...
Yeah... Sometimes I use my mobile to surf the net... And I even put comments here... But it's not so easy as we do that in computer... I can type more faster in computer so I really like surfing net through my PC... However these days I use my 5800 paired with my laptop in order to surf internet.. It's faster as 5800 has 3.5 G speed.. (Even using 5530 we can do that but connection is considerably slower..)
However if you have wifi, then it's not a problem at all.. You will not be charged too.. Below is a brief comparison of web browsers that I've installed in my mobile... (This is something I've posted before... Hope you wouldn't mind that...)
1) Opera mobile (Overall Best, very reliable, nice interface) Cons: Doesn't fully support for Java script and flash
2) Default browser (Pretty stable... But it doesn't have a nice interface or features like other browsers..)
3) Skifire (Eats phone RAM memory a lot.. So it's normal that you'll get 'not enough memory' error for this software... But, it supports flash contents perfectly... Almost any heavy flash website can be viewed using this mobile browser...)
4) UCbrowser (Very less memory consumption, pretty fast and solid... Simple interface... but not for complex works..)
5) Digia Web (Very cool interface... Very good flash & Java Script support... Can view any web site just like computer does... No memory errors like Skifire either... So I'm getting to like this software over Opera mobile now...!)
I think I've answered what you've asked me... Please ask anything anytime, and I will surely answer if it's possible time for me to do so... (I know you were reading most of my posts here in GSMarena for a long time... So I'm pretty sure you'll easily hack your mobile and install the stuff very quickly...)
Good luck brother...

Svk, 27 Apr 2010Hi
cyber_shot_under_dog,
I wanna buy an in-ear headph... moreah.. your an audiophile. . (yes! a person that takes music seriously)
ah yes the EX headphones, cheap and cute (they got a pink color too) I tried it out when I was on the mall, (good thing they let me tried these babies out,some brands just don't seem to do this anymore especially Philips earphones) I played a heavy bass song like Diagnostic with love by Chris Brown(due to the small ear buds I guessed that it will lack bass). Bass was mild and tender, they were not really heavy as in like my MDR-XD200 headphones (when I say mild it isn't bad,you can feel it but it isn't too heavy) the voice of Chris brown was clearly heard, it was clean and realistic. then I started to listen to a rock song so I can clarify it's clarity this was the song The downfall of us all by A Day to remember. The intro where they mimic the drums it sounded great Loud,crispy and most of all realistic, but the problem started where the guitar started playing it was a bit messy (not so messy but it wasn't acceptable for me being a guitarist but maybe for you it's ok) so for my review of the MDR-ex33lp/grn I'll give it 8/10 due to realistic sound,and warm and mild bass for concerto,RNB and Jazz. but lacks enough clarity for Rock music. but for this price it's great why not buy it.
Another thing I would likely recommend you is the Mdr-ed12Lps I'm currently using it right now cheaper then the ex33lp, but still great. . it's not an in-ear headphones, but it has a small tube that'll make it similar to an in-ear earphones, it has orange and white. . . ahaha! ! (I owned the orange) bass is great with these pair of babies, well the clarity well. . . it's o-k meaning yeah it performed a tad worse than the mdr-ex33lp. . . but for the price it's great, or even one of the best. . . score is 9/10
Aw. . the SHE9550 was owned by my friend (ahahah his name is wilhelm) He always bragged about his new earphones back at school. . but urgh. . it's a bit over priced for me. . even though bass were heavy, mid tones were not acceptable it gets covered with the bass, ok ok maybe if you like the little subwoofer sound in your ears, (listening to too much hip hop and rap) it'll be ok. . . but for me I don't recommend it I'll give it 5/10. . .
too be honest my friend I never even used or touched a creative portable audio devices. . so it's your ears that'll tell you the whole story. . .
so there it is, ahaha your a good bro man. . I never gave anything to my sister since the last sony ericsson G700, well good lucl. . and one extra tip try b4 buy, and let your ears do the talking

Second, it is not necessary to have 3G in phone. I think, the only use of 3G is for video calls. It is okay if you don't have it in your phone. This is a great phone, so if I were you, take it. :D
