Anonim, 06 Mar 2010For those who have this phone a few months to over a year-Q... morethe battery lasts about two days with 2 hours of wi-fi, 3-6 hours of music with earphones, and 2 hours of tinkering your phone (looking at pics, messages, and looking through the menus). . . well this test isn't 100% but that's what I do everyday in school. . .

As a mac user, its such a hassle for me to use a nokia phone. I need to install the PC suit first which i cant since its not a mac format. When i plug my phone to my macbook, it doesnt recognize it at all.
I have to use a card reader to transfer files. which can be really tedious expecially if you're transfering photos and tons of it. After a few times of trying, it froze up on me especially my gallery from my pictures.which is really frustrating.
The contacts gets mixed up if you're not using the country code e.g. 0921-234-3455 it will read as a different number if you dont use the country code it should be +63921-234-3455. I was guessing whos no. was it and why i dont have it in my contact the first few times I used it.
I love it's style and all but its not for me i guess.

For those who have this phone a few months to over a year-QUESTIONS:
How is the battery life...even when you have fully charged phone, turned off for several hours.
just Playing music? how long?
Connecting to WIFI? how long?
*apparently using WIFI one hour, battery fully charged is close to nothing*
*also read opinions the battery is not snug to the connectors...is that why the battery drains fast?*
DIRECT SUNLIGHT ISSUES, the screen not readable AT ALL?
Is this true?
Any other issues/problems? Freezing etc.?
Please inform us. Thanks!

Jett, 06 Mar 2010Dear Nuwan and Miroo96,
Thanks a lot to all your advices..... morehi there...even if the update 4 5800 has the same interface as 5530 and has kinetic scrolling , the touch experience in 5530 is much better because it's a thing connected to hardware not software or software updates, what i mean is that the resistive touchscreen in 5530 is more evolved (newer or more updated ) than the 5800' screen...hope u choose the best..bye

cyber-shot under dog, 06 Mar 2010right timing Nuwan I just sold a brand new x6 . So as I sol... moreDear Cyber-shot under dog,
Thank you very much dear brother...
Just like I thought... As X6 also has the same processor, Ram and the OS, I also thought we'll not feel a difference between our 5530 and X6...
So definitely with their next touch screen mobile, Nokia will have to move either to Android or a newer version of Symbian with new GUI... Otherwise it'll loose its market...
Better build quality of my 5530 even compared to such an expensive phone like X6 is making me so happy...
I just love this...
Thanks again mate...

Nuwan, 06 Mar 2010Dear cyber-shot under dog,
Thank you for correcting me b... moreright timing Nuwan I just sold a brand new x6 . So as I sold it (my customer is a friend) I tried to get a test run the x6 had noticable bigger body and screen, it looks longer than the aging 5800 or 5230 but thinner (although I haven't put the x6 and the 5800) What gave me the heart to love the x6 was the design, filled with straight lines, modern assymetric figures, but as I expected the plastic feels cheap unlike the 5530 but I think it'll last, unlike the plastic build plagued ny the n76 ( miss that phone though).. So I as I turned on the phone, I was back in the s60 realm in another dimension, the cpu although same as ours feels a tad faster (it's either from the capacitive screen due to less calculations, or that my 5530 is filled with files) but the x6 is boring, really boring due to the same in softwares with my 5530 ,it didn't bring anything new.. It's just a 5530 with a bigger capacitive screen..
The camera is better than ours ( no Im not bragging about it's 5 megapixel sensor, but its the image quality) 5530 head to head with the x6.. 5530 had more noise and it scares me with the massive purple fringing in the lower left corner, the x6 made a more clear and vivid color reproduction, but a slight yellowish.. So it's greater than our 5530 ( bt no match with the handy dandy k800i)
Although I wasn't able to try out the speakers and a cool radical headphone ( due to my friends excitement of watching xxx at home hahaha) but I think it'll be great although not xur how great..
ok so my word is x6 is just a 5800 with a better design, a way better camera with a built in hard drive and capacitive functionality, sacrificing the micro sd slot..
but 5530 has better build quality than these babies

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2010I bought nokia 5530 Xpress Music 2 weeks ago. This phone no... moreDear Anonymous brother who has the problem with Music keys on home screen,
Before hard resetting, try the followings.. May be you've changed your Home Screen settings...
Go to Menu - Settings - Personal - Home Screen - Home Screen Theme (Make sure you've selected 'Contacts Bar'. Because above Music Player short cut only appears in that mode..)
After selecting that again Go to Menu - Settings - Personal - Home Screen - Home Screen (Make sure the tick in the box for Music Player is applied...)
Now check whether your Music player short cut is working or not... If not, then Hard reset your mobile would be the only solution as our brother 'Sabin Cruz' says... Good luck friend...

helloct, 05 Mar 2010Hi,
@Nuwan you're right i was not enough clear. What i mea... moreDear helloct,
If you're talking about the Bass itself... Then 5530 Xpress Music simply Rocks...! But in order to feel the difference you must do followings...
1) You must buy a good hands free set... (Creative EP 830 and/or Senheizer CX 500 are just awesome.. There may be even better hands free sets...)
2) You must install 3rd party Music players like LCG Jukebox and PowerMP3... (LCG Jukebox produces crystal clear music but the volume is bit lower... But frequency response is just awesome.. On the other hand PowerMP3's frequency response is not so good, but overall it's the better player... If you're pretty much in to the 'Bass' reproduction, then you may use the 'Bass Boost' and 'Preamp' options in Settings of PowerMP3 and also you can adjust the powerful equalizer it has... But I really wonder whether anybody needs that much 'Bass' really...!)
If you do above 2 'Must's then, you're good to go with Nokia 5530 Xpress Music... Good luck for a perfect and just awesome Music experience..

hanu_blr, 05 Mar 2010@nuwan,
is there a way to save the attachments got throu... moreDear hanu_blr,
OK... In your message inbox you will see all your bluetooth files transferred... But unfortunately Music files, Photos and any other file only show up as a bluetooth file... That's the problem.. Right...?
In order to save them, click the bluetooth message you want to save and open it... Let's say it's a music file, then it'll be opened in Music player.. Stop the playback and click on 'Back' button.. Then it'll ask 'Save...?' or something... Click 'OK'... Even for a word document or a photo also, it's the same... When it asks to save just click 'OK'
Now the problem is 'Where has it been saved...?' Right...? OK... That depends upon the file type.. When it's a music file, it'll be saved in the folder named 'Sound files' in your phone or memory card... (Use the file manager to go there...) If it's a photo or image then most possible place is 'Images' folder in memory card or phone... If it's an unknown file or a file which is not belonged to above categories (or the phone itself decides it's not belonged...) then the file should be in the folder 'Attachments' in phone memory or in memory card...
Now I think your problem is solved... Right...? However for me, Symbian phone's this behavior is really stupid...! Actually it's trying to be user friendly... But that user friendliness gets us sick & tired sometimes...! I think you agree with me... (With their next symbian OS, I suppose Nokia will take care of this annoying bluetooth problem...)
One more thing... After you've saved them in your memory card... Delete all the bluetooth messages from your message inbox... Because they can be heavy and your phone memory will reduce drastically... That will be an issue with the performance of the mobile...
Good luck brother...

Reddy, 05 Mar 2010Hey, I brought N55530 recently. I am unable to STOP or SNOO... moreDear Reddy,
I think you're facing a very simple trouble of misunderstanding...
Please correct me if I'm wrong here...
When your phone does it alarm, the screen doesn't respond to any touch input and it's showing only two lines (One is green color saying 'Snooze' or something... One is red color saying 'Stop' or something...) But when you click on them in order to stop, nothing works... Right...?
OK.. if that is the problem, then don't worry.. Because I also faced the same problem and got to know that not a 'tap' it wants from us...
As the mobile is auto locked... it wants us to 'Sweep' our finger to the direction of that green or red which ever line goes... (Both lines go to opposite directions... You have to sweep your finger to the particular direction of what you want to do...)
Remember... Not a 'Tap'... You have to 'Sweep' your finger on the line itself...
By the way, answering a phone call in 5530 is also same... Haven't you faced the same trouble their as well...? When your phone is locked, if a call comes then those two lines appear on the screen saying 'Answer' for the green line and 'Silent' (or something similar) to the 'Red' line... You are supposed to 'Sweep' your finger to answer the phone call without unlocking the phone...
That's of course very stylish and cool... Only thing is, someone has to tell us... Clearly... Otherwise it'll take time, what does it really say...
Hope your problem is solved now...

If so, what do you think about that handset...?
Please could you do a detailed comparison between X6 and 5530 Xpress Music...? (Not specification wise.. But experience wise... Your personal opinion is what I want to know...)
