i think that the phone is awesome. it is very easy to use. the battery is not that bad as well because it can like stay three full days if you do not go on the interne, play music, etc..... the camera mis very good but sometimes the lighting and everything is not as nice as you would expect it to be. the memory is very small and sometimes it is hard to store music. the internet is not bad except you cannot like go back and forth if you are like on two pages. i have had my phone for like six months and i am opting for the C6-01 but i am not sure if it is more enjoyable. anyone with experience please reply... thank you and i hope that my comment was usefull to you.

I always used to be suspicious about symbian, mostly due to my friend's reviews about it. I never thought that this is a very friendly and flexable OS. It's the second Nokia phone I have. The first phone was 6230. I had founded it by a mistake at school 7 years ago. I don't know who used it before, but facts are facts, it surviveed till now. I have never seen something like that before, thus Nokia lets say, "bought" my trust in it. This is the second nokia I have (5530 XM) for about a year and a half. I never had problems with it, not mentioning random resets and freezes. It's common among smartphones. The phone itself, lets say, mainly a PDA, secondary a PMP and at last a phone. it's a pitty that it lacs a GPS, however everything you need is on it's place. I like the seriousity of Nokia, a paper fabrique company

i like this fon.every thing is great but there's only one prob that is:this is not a 3g fon....but i am enjoying using this fon....

i have 5530 since 2 years...it s great to listening music and surf the net and i am impressed for its amazingly screen quality..its best..i compare it with alot of phones in this rage and somtimes compare with more prices phone.it was better than them...

I´ve experienced the same as you, my first Nokia was a 6230 which was made in China and I had that phone for 2 years, it was flawless in every way. Then I bought a 5700 also made in China which I had for 2 1/2 years, it got its flex damaged after 1 1/2 year but it was still fully functional. Now I have had an E63 for a year and it has been flawless. It´s made in Finland and the quality is equal to my 6230. Also my dad had a 5530 which was made in Mexico (he currently has a Samsung Galaxy Ace) and my mom has a 5610 XM which was made in Brazil and no problems at all. Also a buddy from college has had a N95 8gb (made in Korea) for 2 years and it´s working as brand new. That´s what I like about Nokia, a single company with the same high quality manufacture.

Finland better than China etc. So very untrue, i've had Nokias from China that have kept working for years. I've had a 7110 which worked for 4 years before deciding on upgrade. Also had a 6600 from China which worked well for several years before i replaced it due to age and battery problems, one of my kids uses it today.
the 5530 is a beautiful phone, it's been with me for almost a year now (bought in july 2010). a firmware upgrade was all it needed to get it working for my needs. The only things i dont like about this phone is night shots and it's lack of a backlight ... i cant see anything in bright sunlight!
my next phone will be a C5-01, it will be replacing this. i dont care about what they say, i take care of my phones well and never needed servicing ... always been a Nokia user, unless i get a lemmon, i'm not changing to another brand. :)

i woke up one morning to have lost all my phone contacts. till date, i have not been able to retrieve it.what do i do in this case. i really need my contacts back...........

sure, welcome.. as long as i have the info i'm more than willing to share it with everyone.
i haven't done that and i will not advice anyone to do it especially when he is not an advance user. try to take it to nokia center and let them do it for you, for sure they'l update your fw to the latest vn as well.
but if you really want and your confident enough to do the flashing it's really up to you. just do some google searches and review, ok.?
