sure, actually i've answered this query last night but i think moderator is not going to post it so i will try again to give you the details..

well, basically there's no problem in this phone really.
it just depends on the user's need, so better plot what you really need in a phone.
(see details posted in the specs section.)

if you cannot identify what you really want then that's the time that we got problem here (but remember, problem is not with the phone) ofcourse get it from nokia or from a registered/trusted dealer.

if you are thinking for a complete set then n8 is definitely the answer (for me, yeah it is)
                -
if you want a nice looking smart phone, with best music quality, running on symbian with tons of free downloadable apps and cheap price despite of the many good capabilities then better go for 5530.
                downside: battery drains bit fast.
no 3g and gps - but these 2 is not important to me not an issue at all
i got used to recharging my battery after more than 2days of usage.
i have mine for 10mths now...

just not sure maybe they're not giving free apps to those that are not registered.

it just depends on the need of the user.
if you think what you need is what 5530 has then go for it.
so be sure of what you really want in a phone, 'cos if not then that's the time that we got problem (but take note not with the phone,ok)
this phone is fine, considering it's nokia it doesn't matter anymore where or in which country it's made from. considering symbian os, there are tons of 3rd party applications you can dl and install.

and remember get it from nokia or from a trusted nokia dealer.

I've had this phone for half a year now. At first, i couldn't acces the ovi store, but after that I was able to experience everything this phone had to offer. Games and apps are great, more than i could ever need. I dropped this phone hundreds of times without the case and there was no visible dents on the aluminum or plastic and the touch screen is still very responsive

im sorry if you experience all this stuff..
but all of these are easy to manage if you just give time to review, i know you can.

first, since you did factory reset this should delete several files from your phone memory (not sure about the memory card) and set it as it was when you first bought it. dont you think this is the reason why some of your applications turns off w/o launching? because some of the files are already deleted.

second, you installed 'more and more' applications, as you described, maybe some of them are set to autostart. from the time that you turn on your phone these apps automatically run as well, running applications in the back ground eats RAM, and running several applications with ram almost sucked up, maybe the phone cant handle it anymore so it just restarts. what you're going to do is exit each application that you are not using, or
install netqin anti vir and mobile guard. use boot acceleration, and disable applications. you may open them later anyway.

third, you know sometimes applications may harm your mobile, we got a lot of 3rd party applications out there, but there are also tons of fake once so we are at risk.. before you dl and install an application best thing that you can do is read the users comments that way you will know if the application is working fine or not.
to answer your question 'shoud i delete everything from phone mem?' the answer is yes!
if you reset your phonemem you should do it to your memory card as well, and my best suggestion is for you to not retain your old files. as this might cause another problem to your phone.
actually, even form your memory card as well..
but if you wanna play with your old applications well just install them by batch, may be do it by three's so you can monitor which application is causing trouble to your beloved 5530. and then dump it.

yes, most of the times signing is required.
just google it, i found way, you will too.
dont say you can never learn the signing thing.
your phone has so many potential, symbian has so many potential dont just stop there buddy.
i can help you do it but but believe me you'd be more than satisfied and proud if you do it by your self, .. give it a try first.. =) goodluck!
