Even i agree with Rajeev and Anil, in India 3G, GPS somehow wifi is useless atleast for coming 2 years. so 5530 is a better choice

Thanx for replying guys. I can decide more easily now. Yes, better processor and kinetic scrolling are very good features in 5530 and I guess I'll go for it only.
Btw, does any one know if OVI suite is pre-installed in the phone? So that I can use their maps.
And when will it RELEASE in India? The people at my nearby store have no idea. Plus I read it in some site that it'll be available in early 2010. :-S

Guys it all depends on your taste which phone u want...
5800 & 5530 has same platform(OS) so u can run same apps in both the phones. 5800 has 3g & gps which may be deciding point, If u ignore that 5530 will be good as compared to 5800. You can expect all the problems in 5800 platforms to be fixed in 5530. 5530 has also some quite good extra features added in it(Kinetic scrolling,20contact bar,greater processor etc) which u maynot get in 5800 realistically even after firmware update.
Regarding price 5800 price almost freezed now u cannot expect any more reduction in price. It settled in 16k now.
5530 price will be around 13k starting & there is definite chance of price reduction here to around 11.5k in a couple of weeks. Nokia has a record in reducing the price in couple of weeks. But still launch price of 13k is quite convincing.

u wil get in 13k
& u say 3k nt big deal
as in Idnai GPS & 3G is waste
Y waste xtra 3k on 5800.
& 5530 home-screen is far far much better than 5800

for functionality and unique music experience, go for 5800. for style and youthly musical feel, go for 5530. that said, it still depends on what your taste is. I'm using 5800 right now, and I'm planning to get 5530 the moment it comes out here in the Philippines.

Hello! I've been following this forum from quite a long time. I've read various reviews about Nokia 5530 XM and I really love this phone. 3G and GPS are not a problem for me coz I rarely 3G; GPS, yes I used it to some extent.
I'm from India and here 5800 is being sold for 16k and 5530 will be available for 14K. There's not a much difference in the price but i've also read over the internet a lot many times of the problems people using 5800 are having. Is 5800 really that bad? I'm very very very confused. Can anyone give me a sincere advice on which phone to buy out of 5530 and 5800? Please reply.

Shavi, 26 Aug 2009Can any1 plz tell me tat does 5800 have (on itz home screen... more5800 does not has 20 contacts on it's home screen.. it has just 5.. 5530 has 20 contacts.. but with a firmware upgrade u cane increase the number of contacts on 5800 also..
