Anonymous, 24 Aug 2009i meant that s60v5 is immature not the hardware of 5530 or ... moreAnil didnt mention anything about its hardware. He said that 5530 and 5800 both have the same os. So why would 5530 would be the unit for testing when 5800 was their first unit to come out with the same os?

Anil, 24 Aug 2009Hey guyzzz... someone told that 5530 is beta version & Nok... morei meant that s60v5 is immature not the hardware of 5530 or 5800,the real problem is the s60v5 which nokia wants to test and get feedback this was not possible with 5800 alone at it was costly so they decided to launch a cheaper version which more people will buy and they will have large number of feedbacks to properly develop s60v5 platform.yes it is true that whatever development occurs in the software you will receive it through firmware update but why to buy abuggy phone in first place.it took nokia almost a year since launch of 5800 to fix its bugs some of which i think a still in process are to be fixed with further firmware update expect same with 5530 as both have s60v5.

Anil, 24 Aug 2009yaah I feel its already launched in many countries, Nokia w... moreThe other touch smartphones are iphone and samsung phones and the lg.

Now iphone is too expensive and i have never liked apple products.

Samsung is just purely rubbish. I don't like their operating system either and some of their phones don't even have wifi.

Now the lg arena or viewty was really good but again expensive.

I have always taken nokia phones and the 5800 after selling my older phone was coming for 15k for me so i decided to go for it.

And yeah the design might not be great but atleast it is stable.

The 5530 will have issues for sumtime before it becomes stable and i did not want to wait that long.

And the price of 5800 is fast coming down anyway

yaah I feel its already launched in many countries, Nokia would have fixed most the issues by now before launching in india....I think this may be the reason they are delaying its launch here in india.....
If u see india is one of the major market for nokia interms of sales percentage......
Also i don't think its a wise decision to buy 5800 if 5530 has some issues.. I can probably go some other good toucscreen brands, coz i don't like the design of 5800 & moreover 5800 platform is same as 5800 so we can except the minor issues to be sorted out soon..if its really there till now..

coth, 24 Aug 2009a lot of people reporting the phone seems to have some defe... moreThis is another reason i did not wait to buy the 5530.

Since it is a new phone it will definitely have a lot of bugs. Whereas the 5800 has been in the market for almost a year and all the bugs have been sorted out now through firmware updates. The 5530 will have bugs too and it will be sorted but it will take time. That's why i chose the 5800

              Hey guyzzz...
someone told that 5530 is beta version & Nokia launched it for testing purpose in less price....
              Can u authenticate your information....
If that is the case than what about 5800 ..even 5800 has s60v5 os version......??????

              I disagree with you......

guys all 5530 are used as beta testers for it immature s60v5.nokia has launched this cheaper phone so that more and more people can buy these touchscreen phone with s60v5 and they can get feedback and then they can develop the software and remove bugs.its all setup by nokia dont fall in trap s60v5 is still a immature platform and needs lots of improvement.it will take atleast 6monts to 1yr for nokia to make s60v5 really work so just stay away from nokia touchscreen phone.
s60v3 fp2 is prefect as of now and best platform from nokia so buy phones with that version.

Yes, sometimes the phone works ok for few days, but sometimes i get a lot of reboots one right after one. There a lot of people reporting about the problem on allnokia.ru
And accroding to one man who tryed to buy it in Eldorado shop (I bought it in Nokia Shop) - they said they got a lot of returns and recommended to go another shop to buy it.

@Coth :I understand from what u saying that some issues are there as phone crashes sometimes.....
Do u faced similar issues yourself.......
I mean is it for some particular handsets or its a generic issue...
Plzz confirm whether u faced such issues till now....

Mac users: Any idea how one can get SE K800i contacts to a 5530? Tried 'Send all' (via Bluetooth), only sends the first contact. Tried ZYB.com, doesn't support 5530. Tried Nokia's own OVI, it ONLY supports Nokia phones - silly, how can people migrate? Tried prayer, still awaiting response from up above. So, it's now over to GSMArena!

a lot of people reporting the phone seems to have some defects. the system crashes very often leading the phone to reboot. sometimes you can get the crash even right after reboot, when the phone is loading.

so i would recommend to withstand from purchase until nokia will clarify - is it software or hardware failure and will it be fixed with next firmware.

If you receive a call while the phone is locked you don't have to unlock it. You can simply swipe the green bar to the left to answer the call.
