The ovi store runs better on the 5530 than any other nokia phone...this is for you ILoveCookies :p

5530 will certainly have advantages too!

The messaging and hand writing features have got a good review as well.

Another good point was :
Although to be fair, studies have shown that most people spend 90 per cent of their time browsing the web in the home or at work - and with Wi-Fi on board browsing moves from Ford Fiesta speeds to Lamborghini Diablo levels.

Even though they criticise the lack of 3G that part was good becasue it shows MOST people do NOT use 3G all the time.

For all the people asking about the video this is it:
176x220 pixels (QCIF) and up to 15fps

About GPS:

There's not mapping application on board sadly, which makes the GPS chip inside a little bit redundant. However, a swift online trip to Senor Google's house will have you downloading Google Maps in no time, and you'll soon be able to navigate around with ease.

So maybe its not all that bad afterall for those who complain about gps :p

About apps:

The Facebook application is actually rather good though, with all the same options to poke and edit your profile as you get on the Android and iPhone versions, albeit this is through the mobile browser, rather than a standalone application.

Other applications are mostly the standard Nokia fare - ie a collection of links to popular mobile sites like Amazon or MySpace - as well as converters, GPS information and a dictionary (actually, the latter is rather good - it's a proper dictionary and everything!)

The battery has also got very very good rating here. :D

Ovi suite has a good review :D

Nokia's decision to 'go Ovi' has started to pay dividends, as the new Ovi Suite in the box is great. The Ovi Suite was a lot more intuitive than previous efforts, encouraging us to sync across all our media, back up contacts and even throw it all online to make it safe forever as Nokia tries to integrate all its services.

I saw the video preview of the samsung omnia 2 and it does not realy look all that great despite having 3G and a 5MP camera. I mean it's interface looks average at best and it's quite slow. All the widgets load up every time you change the screen. I rate the 5530 and the 5800 over the omnia 2. There is something about the nokia phones that is moer attractive than anyother.

eshaan, 12 Aug 2009Well we will have to wait for that to happen in the 5800 wo... moreI guess we will.

And I'm not saying it won't be as or more popular than the 5800. Actually, with it's smaller price it will probably sell more. Usually cheaper products are sold in larger quantities, this time it shouldn't be any different.

Hey, it's a great phone. If it had 3G and if the 5800 did not exist, then it would be even greater.

IEatCookiesForBreakf, 12 Aug 2009Define "better". Is it a subjective feeling of the revie... moreNo it's the 5800 with the latest firmware update. v30.01 or something. The one that just came out. See i agree with you that 5800 has better features and that is obvious since it is more expensive and 5530 is a stripped down version of 5800 but 5530 is a brilliant phone itself and will be quite a sensation i think.

And "better" is a better user interface, faster processing (with a LOT of songs and apps installed on the 5530) and generally smoother usage. The guy on the dailymobile forum who has both the phones (5800 updated) put the same amount of stuff on both the phones and stil found the 5530 to be quite faster and smoother with no lagging.

It may not have all the features of the 5800 but there's nothing to say it can't surpass the 5800 in popularity

Meaning the 5800 can (and given the Nokia manager's words, will) get those same qualities.

This is what I've been saying so far and there is yet to be any logical argument that can prove otherwise.

Is it a subjective feeling of the reviewer, or has anyone done an objective benchmark of some sort?

And you still haven't told me it it's with the 5800 at 434Mhz or still at 369Mhz. Because it makes a big difference.
