DK Nian, 10 Aug 2009wtf, so slow? but anyway, slow also got benefit... that's c... moreI don't even mind paying the extra cash now but i want this phone! There are too many conflicting reports.
Some shops have never heard of the phone. SOme shops say 1 week...some say 1st september. Some say a month or 2. I dunno what to believe!

IEatCookiesForBreakf, 10 Aug 2009Actually, depending on when you've made the switch, I'll be... morelike so many others i was also amazed when people said that the clock speed of nokia 5800 was increased through a firmware update..so i did a little research and found out that actually all of these devices use same ARM processor:
Nokia E90, Nokia N93, Nokia N95, Nokia E63, Nokia E71, Nokia 5800, Nokia E51, Nokia E75, Nokia N97, Nokia N81,HTC Dream. Motorola Z6. HTC Hero etc etc...
and the processor can give 740 MIPS @ 532-665 MHz, 400-528 MHz.....so the speed might acutally have been upped in nokia 5800...
well i didn't understand most of the things..but i think clock speed can be varied through a certain range which is directly affects battery consumtion and heat production...

With a firmware update the CPU was upped to 434Mhz from the previous 369Mhz, an increase of almost 18%, which means alot on performance.
I know you feel tempted to say you made the switch after, just so you can lie to yourself and think you made the right choice, but do try to be honest about it.
Also, the Cookie doesn't come with a free 8GB card or a 2nd camera for video call, has a smaller screen with smaller resolution, no camera flash, no 3G and no WLAN, no GPS, worse battery and battery life, no voice dial, no TV-out, and it plays only 3 music formats and 1 video format instead of 6 music formats and 4 video formats on the 5800.
Did you even get the 5800 in the first place or are you just trolling around? Can't see how you'd trade it for a Cookie.

exquse me guysbut i stell think that sympian os need more time to follow the other oss which are made to operate touch phones like x os and android os
ihope the double tapping problem is solved in this new device and i hope that it will be faster than his old brother 5800 which i feel sorry when i say that i replased it after one week with the much faster and user friendly and better loking lg cookie
i am waiting to get my hands on this phone asap

Btw, forgot to say. Phone was assembled in Hungary.

No, there is no HD recording. HD should have minimum 720 lines.
Of course there is full finger control in all browsers including Nokia Browser and Opera Mini. But Opera Mini crashes often, while Nokia Browser eats too much of bandwidth. Opera Mobile 9.x is in development. Hope it will be 9.7 minimum with fingertouch and opera turbo (compression proxy, it works excellent in Opera Mini).

Im sure nokia will have other models like the E 72 or the 5730 lined up for then. The 5530 is anyway a low end market phone so they should not really wait for the festive season.
You don't sound that hopeful of it coming this week now? :(

So the 5530 does support HD recording.. So does it support playback of HD video like 640by480 or 720by480 at 30fps 2mbps..?? N if it supports then does it hang while playback.??
And how is web browsing and flash support? Does kinetic scrolling work in web pages as well?
And finally how does it feel to hold it in your hand?? Man! I'm so eager to this phone..
Hope you'll answer further of our queries..
