I have this Nokia 5610 model today May 24,2008. I replaced my MyPhone (dual SIM)- by the way any interested to buy it it is much cheaper in me and its only 3 months old(email me pls).It is nice to use coz of the dual SIM. But i am now looking for a radio thats why I replace it with this Nokia 5610. Nice style and nice sound.

mikan, you can go to http://www.nokia.com.ph/find_a_store and search for the shop name. If you can find the shop name at the website, then it is sure they are selling real nokia phones.
If you cannot find the shop name, I think it depends on your luck if you get a real or fake nokia phone. dilip, there is no black color "plain" N95. Only the 8GB version comes with black color.
If you found any black N95 non-8GB, it could be a fake phone.

hey!!! i just bought this 5610 XM before march 2008 ends coz i am really attracted and passionated with this fone, it's great but surprisingly, it automatically switched on & off.juz as one day i found out that its RALLY 3D game was unable to open and so with its other applications. I brought it to where I had bought it for a check and reprogram of the software, and I was given 3 weeks to wait. But i am now lookin for a new nokia fone....huhuhuhu!!!!

Hi MaxG!
Im from Philippines, thought you should know...
from here, you can buy this fone for as low as $235...what concerns me is that every store has different prices and i was just wondering if there would be any problem with regard to buying this fone from a un-Nokia store? How will i know if the fone im buying is fake or something like that...?
If i may add, would you be so kind to help me with regard to where can i download music for 5610?
Any help from you would be appreciated.

this phone is the best phone i have ever had. i purchesed it just a few hours ago and i still havent found everything on it it has so much on it; it has a good range of games, the camera is fabulouse and the look is absolutley stunning. the flash on the camera gves it that real camera effect :) so i would definetly buy this over any phone.

Hi there.i use some of the content from my memory card as my wallpaper or ringtone, but when i restart my fone it switches to default (both the wallpaper and the ringtone). Does this happen on all 5610's and what can i do (if anything) to fix this problem?

Marcus, I fully agree with you.
My phone is exactly like yours: other than the restart problem (after continuous music or video playback), everything else is perfect!
I even dropped my phone several times but nothing was damaged. The slider key never crack or broke off or even turn loose. Heck, I bought it in January and people still think I just got a new phone!
I really hope Nokia will produce a new firmware to address just this restarting problem...

Excellent phone! Never lets me down, buy original genuine 5610 Finland. You can easily identify if your Nokia is a Finland version if the 7th & 8th numbers of your IMEI is 0,1 or 1,0 respectively.

It depends whether you need a symbian smartphone or not. N73 is a symbian smartphone, 5610 is a simpler S40 phone, but there are pros and cons:
Smartphones are more feature-rich, can install symbian programs (sis file, if you don't know what is it, google it), can run a few programs at the same time (multi-task), can "minimize" program without closing it, and generally have a smarter file management system. However, due to these "smart" features, the phone can sometimes turn very slow and non-responsive, when it turn "busy" you might need to wait a few seconds before it becomes functional again (some people experience a few minutes too!) Think of a very old computer with very little memory and you get what I mean.
S40 phones on the other hand has much less feature, but are usually very responsive and fast in opening programs, navigating menus etc. You seldom see an S40 phone turn "busy" for too long. Switching to camera mode, music player, internet browser etc is truly instant! No lag!
You cannot install symbian (sis) programs on S40, but you can still install Java (jar) programs which are usually games.
Smartphones are normally more expensive than S40 phones, but currently N73 and 5610 are almost the same price because N73 is 2 years old while 5610 is a lot younger (just a few months old).
Other than that, N73 and 5610 are almost head to head in terms of features. Both have similar screen resolution/clarity, camera quality, earphone sound quality etc. However N73 has louder but noisier speaker. 5610 speaker is only about 80% loudness of N73, but is super high quality, very crisp trebel and better-than-average bass. N73 supports miniSD cards up to 2GB, 5610 supports microSDHC cards up to 4GB.
5610 keypad is a lot more comfortable than N73 (try it and you will know).
In terms of style and "cool"ness, I think 5610 (red version) wins hands down :)

WTF!!! dis nokia 5610 s*ckS.. i used it for 3weeks n then it turn Blank screen..and until now it doesnt work. and i bought it for 13k(php) until now the nokia cant fix it..

Ok, I've been away for a couple of weeks, and on cheking this site, I see nothing has changed. There is now 118 pages in this forum - if nobody is going to read previous pages, they may as well be deleted!
Firstly, yes some phones do "hang" and some "restart". My own phone restarts occasionally when (and only when) listening to music for more than half an hour. This is the only problem I have with it. I'm on my second phone - the first was damaged so the replacement came direct from Nokia. They have both suffered exactly the same problem, and they are both on the most up-to-date firmware.
THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIX FOR THIS, SO GUYS PLEASE STOP ASKING. MAYBE IT WILL BE FIXED IN THE NEXT FIRMWARE RELEASE, BUT NOBODY KNOWS FOR SURE.
Secondly, battery life seems to vary from phone to phone. I've seen plenty of posts saying it barely lasts one day. However, mine lasts for 4 days maximum, 2 days on heavy use, so maybe 3 days average. I think this is perfectly acceptable, considering the large screen. My partners N82 doesn't last this long.
Thirdly - I think the camera is very good. No, not as good as a dedicated camera phone, but this is primarily a MUSIC PHONE. I've just been on holiday and taken some very good outdoor pics. Indoors not so good unless very close to the subject, but it's not a xenon flash, so you can't expect it to be as good. Still much better than any SE Walkman phone I've owned, including the W810i which only had a light rather than poroper flash. I would however say that you need to ensure the lens is clean, as it easily gets finger prints on it, leading to blurred pictures - possibly a reason some are not happy with results?
Overall, this is the best phone I've ever had, apart from the one flaw - the restarting problem - but this only happens once every couple of weeks, so although annoying, it's tolerable.
Yes I've heard some horror stories from other people. I could be wrong, but most seem to be phones locked to one service provider? Mine is unlocked - maybe this is significant?

i love this phone,coz nice, elegant, lifestyle. but...this phone camera pixel cannot sharp...sangat.hihihi..and sound cannot high sangat.....that's all.hehehe.i'm sure you all buy and try this phone ;-)
