The LATEST firmware version of this phone is 4.21..today, jan 28, 2008 i hav just updated my phone in a nearby NOKIA CARE CENTER here in CEBU...Although, nothing great has changed...

Its been 3 months since i bought this phone.. I think its a great one and people who are looking for phones with best overall performance should go for this.. here are some advtgs and disadvgts of the phone:
'+' points:
- Excellent screen resolution witha large screen... i sometimes even watch whole movies on this.
- crystal clear loudspeakers.
- excellent quality mp4 format video recording.
- a wonderful web browsing experience.
- a wonderful keypad.
- very fast response
'-' points:
- The volume of the loud speakers could have been better.
- the camera is not so great in less light conditions.
- the ear plugs are not as great as the Sony W-series ones.
- the prints on the delete and menu buttons (on the rubber portion) get rubbed off soon and are of very poor quality.
In spite of all the above not-so-strong disadvantages, the phone is an overall performer and I LOVE this phone... everyone around says they envy my phone..:)

hi kabayan! im from PHL as well. can u help me out? i have several questions..
1) i was wondering if it's possible to have 5700 set a video file (.mp4) play as someone calls u or text u? i tried setting an mp4 file as my text message alert but when i received a message, it only played the sound on the video, not the entire video itself.
2) where do i get themes for 5700? im a member of dotsis.com, but visiting the website takes 4ever. do u have any other websites u can recommend?

5610 and 5700 both got some what similer sounds in there head phones and if u use a different headset on the 5700 it will give unmatched base and sounds ... i suggest u go for 5700 the camera of it is very decent on taking pics on daylight only when it gets dark it gives some what noisy pictures ... if u buy 5610 u will miss the chance of using many unmatched options in the 5700 which runs on the newest and most popular s60 3rd edition os ... but at the end of the day it is what u really want so try comparing em by visiting ur nearest nokia dealer or ur cell phone dealer ...

Hey guys...Im in a big Confusion now....Juz now i compared this model with 6233.....Thr is not much diff between these 2..other than the Symbion & design....evrythng is pretty much same.....
Anotherrrrr thing is i dnt knw which 1 to buy....Can i go for 5610 or 5700 ??? I like the speakers in 5700 not the camera...I like the camera in 5610 but not the speakers,,....
ahhh im soo confuseddd.....
Howss the battery life in 5610Xm ???
Is it a gud phone than this other than the symbion ??? Can i download games for 5610 ???
Please help me out to tk a correc decision.....

hmmm its a rare problem. i didnt find this kind of problem in my phone after installing phonetinfo. ya found a problem that i told you. but now my phone is workikng properly. bro u just uninstall phonetinfo nd if it is possible flash ur handset by pressing *,3, send button and power on button i think this will help you to get rid of that problem

i want to upgrade my firmware, mine is still 3.27
how long does it take to upgrade the firmware in a Nokia Care Center?
Do I need to leave the phone for about a day or it's just waiting like 30 mins - 1 hour?..

Hi I have the phone since July 2007 and its really a great phone beating other brands for music
much convenient cause its a digicam, music player and 3g phone in one, easy to use and nice look
I love it cause it promotional phone of my favorite artist Christina Aguilera when she went here to our place for Back to basics concert tour
I love the way it plays musics with a great great sound that is really love to hear plus the twist factor form that beats other phones like a digicam and don't forget the fast 3g connection to web and video calls. I love it. thanks Nokia.

i bought the phone from dubai an i am a native from india
the problem is that the navigator keys of the headset are not working....
and the phone doesnt have a warranty in India

i updated the phone firmware and now its doing wonders and its faster, i strongly recommend it.

i tried both " *#06# " displays my serial number and " *#0000# " displays my firmware (os) version and other important info ... if u have installed any applications that checks phone memory or other phone info i suggest u uninstall or remove em and try again ... also don't forget u can always do a master reset to ur phone ...

yes u can just take it to the nokia care center and ask em for help ... dont try to do anything by ur self cuz this is not a normal bar type phone ...

thanks masud first of all..
secondly i am having a problem when i type *#06# it doesnot dislpays my imei number and when i agian press# a flash of white light in dislpay and every thing is back to normal but no IMEI # its same when i try *#0000# same thing happens
masud try it and tell me whether u get same same problen cause i think its because of phonetinfo ...
anyone capable to help plzz reply:(

i have this phone for 4 monthes great phone in everything but u should upgrade the firmware to 3.83.1 because the old firmware have alot of problems such as restarting alot of times .

Nokia Care provides free software update, as per Nokia Care Ali Mall Cubao here in Quezon City.
Still, version 3.83.1 is the latest as of to date. By the way, anybody here who knows what the update did to 5700? I only noticed one improvement so far. It doesn't restart or lag since I've had mine updated last November.
So far, it's the most enjoyable mobile that I've had ever. I've been using it since June 2007.
Some of my comments
-still image camera is good only in outdoors.
-camcorder is satisfactory.
-videos from youtube play seamlessly and retain their stereo sound.
-music player is so easy to use (I wish it had an 8-band equalizer). albumart support, shuffle and playlists are must-haves.
-volume is not that loud but sound quality is clear and bass is somehow evident.
-twisting base doesn't get loose.
-in my case, it's dust-resistant. some of my past phones tend to have white stuff in their screen after some time.
-2.5 av port is so upsetting, you still need to use the adapter. I find it inconvenient whenever i use my own headphones and speakers.
-surfing the net is satisfactory. the phone's browser is responsive and is fast whenever i download files. a 4MB music file is saved in the gallery in less than a minute.
-screen resolution is unbeatable.
-calls are great.
-texting is hassle-free. the keypad work was great.
-awesome default themes. I downloaded other great themes from mosh.nokia.mobi.
-the phone's glossy white part has no scratches (again, I've been using this since June).

Well website shows 3.27 for my version also. I went at Nokia care two days back and they people updated it to latest version. You can also try same thing as when I contacted nokia customer care they told me that websites may not be updated.
