well, it doesn't rely or depend on the color you choose. it's just the outside appearance, come on. you're thinking that black is much better than the red model? come to think of it.
take note that they're the same, hardware-wise, software-wise. it's just the color, come on.

If I have one month with it and I find a prob with it, can I get a new one or get it repaired...
in the white part of the fone in music keypad, if I push the white part of it, is pushed the next track button...
also my joystick is miss-angled..

When we make a call , do we get the call timings ? ( during the call and after the call is ended )....coz in 6131 , only the time after the call ended is shown.....so , in 5700 , does it show the call time while the call is in progress ?

And, are the black handsets in anyway superior to the red ones technically? During my enquiries today at a Nokia priority shop, the dealer suggested something like that, though he wasn't sure what he meant exactly.

Thanks Farhan for your info on Office viewing/editing options in 5700. I'd be glad if you'd provide some more info: 1. Where do I get Quick office edition-4 2. With that installed, will I be able to download and view office doc. mail attachments, or is it only for docs. uploade from PC 3. What are the other shortcomings of the browser/mail options? no one has elaborated on that issue (I agree, it's a music phone, still...) coz I'd have to turn to the E-series if I'd only get only rudimentary browsing options with 5700, 3G not withstanding 4. Aren't you tired of answering people like me? (You're doing a great job, man. Thanks, and continue, please)

Hi all!i'm using this phone for about 2wks now.it's the most fabulous,amazing & technologically advanced phone i've come across so far that too at an unbelievable price of only 12000 in india.The bundled software,stereo headset,all things're just amazing.
About it's features & performance,i can say only one thing,i can't find any flaw in anything in this phone.Nokia's really done a incredible job.it's a must buy for all.It's a smartphone with perfect music capabilities,incredible speed & user interface.
Hats off to Nokia.they've done a really cool job.This phone's got anything & everything anyone can ever want at an incredible price.what else do you want?

cool phone,smaller brother of nokia N91 which is a highly music dedicated phone in mobile world.5700 is a good phone and n91 is better than any other music phone.n91 rulzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

oh, i see. really? you're a nokia team club member? is there a fanclub dedicated to mobile phones? wow, that's new to me.
anyway, with what i said, please don't take it badly. i was just doubtful because there were no supporting proofs regarding the release of a new firmware update.
i recall that you said that it would help improve the camera and as well as the sound. how? do you have examples about the improvements? can we expect them to happen?
and another thing.... is it not right for someone from a big company like nokia to divulge or spread such information? think about it. if you claim your friend works for nokia and he's spreading such statements without any backup, he should be kicked out of the company. right? what he or even you are doing creates malicious impression and reputation for nokia.
it's hurting to know that some people are claiming they're linked to big companies and they're violating rules as to spreading misleading information.

I bought this phone today,I think I was very lucky because I bought the only black version I found in all the vodafone dealers in my town.For a first day the phone stood up to my expectations so I am verry happy that I have it.Even thought I read almoust all your opinions I have some questions:
I think i read that the phone can read pdf files,so where can i download the adobe reader for the phone?
I also think some of u said that the phone can support quick office files,so where can I download that too?

@ Aziz: go for Nokia 5700. This Phone WIll never disapoint u. It has better processor than N76 . N76 doesn't have Infrared But nokia 5700 has infrared.N76 doesn't SUpport multiple blutooth connection but nokia 5700 support Multiple bluetooth connection.
@ Ankur: I haven't inquired from nokia team member about the firmware release date but may it take 1 or 2 months . New firmware means that The OS on which u r working will be renewed and may contains some new features. to check ur firmware type *#0000# on standby mode. Ur firmware will be displayed. I think that new firmware version will be v4. something.

@ Magnanimous: Nice Question But i have A answer Too. Dear I have emailed nokia middle east Team about the antivirus and some Bugs as the people says that their phone restart and some says that they can't copy contents from gallery SO i told them to realese new firmware version in which all these problems should be solved as well as i have also siad to them to Enhamce Camera and Sound Quality. So after Two Days I have Received MAil from "attaullah" Who told me that Nokia soon relaesing the new firmware for 5700 and We are giving u assurity that ur all problems will be solved . and for antivirus go to nokia middle east website where u can download f secure antivirus [30 day trial version]

Hi all!
I'm a surgeon by profession & also a phone lover.the technology intrigues me.Anyways,i use all features available in a cellphone,even those which're not but downloadable.I've been using phones of all types but mostly the Smartphones.all from Windows to Symbian,touch-screens to keypads.But very seldom have i found a phone which's good in all respects not one/two.
I bought the Nokia 5700 after reading it's specs on Gsmarena.2ndly,i liked it after i held it's dummy model in My Mobile Store in Punjab,India.I just loved it since i held it.
I bought it for 12000,believe me,it's value for money for each penny i spent.
The display's amazing,large & with 16million colors.the image's sharp & crisp.the screen size's large enough for me too.I must say Nokia's done incredible job with this one.the font size's large & readable without squinting/glaring at all.the text's fully readable,not like E50.it's Amazing too.
The 2nd important part's the Calls.the call clarity's very good for you as well as the other end.i keep the listening volume at 2.that tells the loudness.the loudspeaker's good too,the sound being sharp & clear.the network's same level as other phones by Nokia as well as Nokia N73.the music output's better than N73.it's bit lesser loud but more pleasing to ears not sharp like N73.
The speed i think's very important too.i'm talking about menu navigation,opening/closing applications.i think in these terms,this's the fastest phone i've ever used.i read the specs again to find out How?the ans lies in microprocessor used here.this makes the phone usage extremely fast.
I got 512mb microSD memory card free with the phone but i use my older one which's 1gb.but there's no change in usage.totally amazing experience again.
Being a Music phone,it has dual surround sound speakers,which're again very good.
For internet,if u go through specs,it's got all possible support.i mainly use GPRS & EDGE as no 3G yet in india.the net browsing speed's amazing,depending on network.one gets the full available speed.there's 1 browser unlike Nseries which've 2 but in my opinion,a good one is better that useless 2.all HTTP pages full size open.just like a laptop/desktop P.C.
It has GPS TOO.i downloaded a document viewer which was the only thing missing & haven't used my laptop since i bought this phone.
The games are an amazing experience.especially,3d ones.incredible graphics,speed.just memorable experience.
This phone's a technological marvel in my opinion.It's a 3G Phone with only 1camera.the camera twists to face you for video calls.twist in opposite direction-u get the music menu.which's a near ipod experience.the stereo headset with this phone's one with buds going in far inside our ears like Sony Ericsson's w series.again amazing.
The battery lasts longer too.this's my 1st phone to last more than a day with heavy usage & never switching off.i charge once in 2days which's amazing.
The complete phone's done well by Nokia.they really deserve appreciation for this marvel in my opinion.this phone,i can't find one problem area.it's a near perfect phone for me.the keypad's good too with good tactile sensation as well as white back light,large keys.so typing's a pleasure for me.i even used my ipod's headphones with this phone,the output was still good.
Top of all this,Nokia's given 50 full songs free loaded on memory card with keys sent by Nokia at the cost of 1sms,2 bucks.Cool?i liked the complete collection of Hindi & English songs.
The camera's good too,in my opinion very good.i've even developed some of the pictures.the video playback's good too.
So,i think this's as good as a review a brief one not detailed but i think it'll answer a lot of questions about the phone.My Personal advice to all-BUY SEALED BOXES ONLY WITH BILL & WARRANTY.your experience'll be perfect always with any mobile of any make.
