ash from manila, 26 Jun 2008Anybody here who knows where can I download original N82/N8... moreI have them, you want meto upload or you want a link to the actual site?.....I dont like N82, maybe because of its design and keypad.....thw 5320 looks promising, but not better enough for me to upgrade, as the screen is same, no sensor and no WIFI.....yet it has N-Gage pls OS 9.3 ^_^.....but till then I'll listen to music on my 5700 and play on my N81 lolz....

    Well legally u can check at nokia's website with my product code 0545304 and see that even till date i cannot update to even v3.83.1 which is official version for my region india via nokia software updater. I was able to get away with the v3.27 version only after product code change and later via flashing using phoenix software (which is the best option) which has made my phone a joy to use now. else i wud have been in ur position with no option but to go to nokia care centre and get my phone updated which is a long procedure compared to updating via nokia's own softwrae. Dunno wen wud nokia finally rectify it rather than expanding their n series portfolio and forgetting about other great phones like 5700 which only requires a stable firmware. U can go in for the update like i hve told u in my post and get a stable and fast nokia 5700 via product code change or alternatively u can go to nokia care centre. But my personal opinion is to do it yourself by product code change as so many users have done it for v3.83.1 successfully.
    And i have no idea whether u can hack ur phone after the update with carbide. Plz check it with other users.

        Anybody here who knows where can I download original N82/N81/N95 8GB themes for free?

        I've checked out zedge.net and mobile9 but they were either lame renditions or have changed the menu icons.

        I want those themes for they seem to look 'serious'. For me, 5700's default themes are on the 'fun' side (which isn't bad for me).

          N5700xm, 26 Jun 2008To future buyers of 5700(if there's any)u wil n0t regret,s0... moreAs for the hs-44, for me, being a head-fi (if you ever know the term), I rate it 'Acceptable'. It's good for an in-box headset but not for the sake of its' totality as a music headset. Background noise is still audible. Bass and treble are fine but much detail of the song are missed.

          I still use the ad-44 adapter. I think I only used my hs-44 for within the first two months since I purchased my 5700 back in June 07.

          Now I'm aiming either the N82 or the upcoming 5320XM. I was a bit disappointed with the N78 (soft speakers!). Lol!

                            I've used it for 4 month,
                            I've not found ( - ) of this phone,

                                I have updated to v5.11 and wud like to tell that there is some more improvement in the sound quality of the phone from past few days of usage. Battery too is performing quite well as compared to v4.21. This is my personal experience after few days of usage with v5.11. And I would surely recommend it to music buffs for the extra bit though small one of improvement in sound quality via original headphones.

                                    Well I can only advice u to take ur phone to Nokia Care Centre and rectify the problem. I have tried searching 4 solution via google but have not found any. Sorry!!

                                      Buddy I do it myself bcoz the guys at Nokia Care Centre take really long time in doing firmware updates or for any other service (My Personal experience). Also most of the firmware updates are not available via NSU and sometimes even Nokia Care cEntre do not have latest firmware. Its very easy though as I have flashed my phone thanks to the proper guidance of experts at mobiles mania forum and its pretty much the same way as we use Nokia Software Updater for update.

                                        Hi there!!
                                        Well even for product code change you need internet connection for the NSU to download and install the update.v5.11 product code is still not there as far as I know. 0544847 is the one I used for changing via product code change method. well frankly speaking when I updated to v4.21 via product code i experienced a lot of problems so much to the extent that the phone was worse then v3.27 in terms of performance. the product code that I have provided will provide u a stable phone. Below is the way u can do the update with n internet connection:
                                        Plz follow this and get ur firmware updated. its really easy!!
                                        To update to latest firmware.
                                        Download - Nemesis Servise Suite or NSS ( Google for it)
                                        Download - Nokia PC Suite (From Nokia Website)
                                        Download - Nokia Software Updater (From Nokia Website)

                                        1)Now connect your handset via usb, open the NSS software scan your phone.
                                        2)Goto phone info tab, towards right side there is "Production Data Edit".
                                        3)Below that there is "Read" option click it.
                                        4)Now tick and turn "Product code enable"
                                        5)Write down your original product code for backup.
                                        6)Enter this code "0544847" this is EURO1
                                        7)Click Write
                                        8)Now you may close NSS.

                                        Install PC suite and nokia software updater
                                        Warning : Before you update make sure you have stable internet connection. Power backup. Updating will take some time depending upon your connection speed.
                                        and yes please do not remove the cable in between and follow on screen instructions carefully.
                                        9)Open NSU (Nokia Software Updater), it will scan for your phone.
                                        10)If everything goes well it will tell you that 3.83.1 is available.
                                        11)Click next and the flashing begins.

                                        After succesful flasing you may revert back to your old product code by following steps 1-8 only this time use your backup product code in step 6.
                                        Any doubts do tell me.
