Nokia 5.1 Plus to get Android Pie by the end of 2018
HMD Global introduced the Nokia 5.1 Plus as a global variant of the Nokia X5 in Taiwan. Later, the phone made its way to India and other markets. It was promised to receive Android Pie but until the weekend, there wasn’t any time frame for the update.
Now, thanks to Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD, we know the wait is almost over. Juho said he “would be surprised” if the Nokia 5.1 Plus does not receive the latest OS before the end of 2018.
The Android Pie update is already rolling out to the Nokia 7 plus and we know what will arrive to the 5.1 Plus. There will be new features like Do Not Disturb Mode, Digital Wellbeing; as well as Adaptive Brightness and Adaptive Battery to get more mileage of the battery. There is also the new system navigation and AI predictions of apps and services.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus will keep receiving major OS updates for two years and security updates for three years according to HMD.

HMD Nokia is still launching boring notch-phones without any innovation to the saturated Android market ... :-(

Ikea is Swedish, with a headquarters in The Netherlands probably due to taxes. HMD Global is Finnish, with headquarters in Finland, across the Nokia headquarters.
