I got also april patch hope to get android 11 soon but on 10 it's really smooth so not hoping too soon android 11 it must be smooth like android 10 so they need fine tuning android 11 for grear experience. Now Nokia 5.3 experience on android 10 is excellent I love it affordable yet quality and durability. Keep it up Nokia thumbs up.

Nokia 5.3 is an exception that HMD didn't even release a statement regarding the delays, which is sad.

Most commonly used to sense when a phone is held up to the users ear to turn off the display. This saves both battery life and prevents accidental screen touches.

Bought this phone in June of last year. Right away I noticed that GPS quality is awful...a few months later the battery died and a guarantee center from Hungary just returned my phone as it is.
I was a user of Nokia for the last 19 years, and I am so much disappointed with this phone and their customer service that this would be the last one.

Got this phone around 2 weeks. Perform good to me, and reminded me the nostalgic of nokia brand.
- Android one is good, less bloatware and more storage avaible than Xiaomi phone that I have.
- I can play COD Mobile, Black Desert Mobile and Mobile Legends smoothly.
- For daily use on weekday, from 8am to 5pm will leave the battery around 60%-50% (with standar usage like messaging and browsing).
- Camera quality is inconsistent, sometimes I can take a good picture, sometimes not.
- LED notification on power button, I like it, but hard to notice because the position on the side phone

Using it from 3 weeks now. Very powerful and simple device. Got used to big screen as it is slim and has matt finish at back. The design is very nice and sturdy. Installed Lawnchair and customized a little bit. It looks perfect now. Waiting for android 11 update. Preferred it over chinese phones for stock android and build quality.

so, after about a week and a half of use, I've also encountered the proximity call issue whereby screen goes black when you are talking with someone. However, I have to ask, is this really a bug or a feature? I'm asking this coz if you put the phone away from your head, the display is back up even when the call is still active. Doesn't it kinda makes sense to disable the display when you are talking with someone since you don't really need it and also it helps prevent accidental pressing by your ear or face?

Is there anyone 5.3 users here facing WhatsApp voice call (dialing&answering) freezes in a first couple seconds? I wonder if anyone could fix this problem.

To solve the proximity sensor just uninstall the call app update on playstore.problem solved

It's a real shame because the phone feels like it's a more expensive handset. I will never buy Nokia again.

Oh and also, the facial recognition unlock is actually good. It's my 1st time using a facial recognition phone so I have no prior experience but if you're in a room or area that's not too dark, it actually works really well.

So I got this phone today. Main reason I got it was coz of the price ($180) and for the VoLTE support. So far no issues yet. I was expecting it to have the proximity call issue as stated by other owners in the previous comments but I haven't seen such an issue yet. I'm not planning on doing any gaming on it (I'm not much of a mobile gamer, I game mainly on PC and PS4) and the main reason I got it is mainly for standard app usage like what's app, telegram, and trading apps. My previous phone was a 2012 Samsung S5301 which lagged a lot and sometimes couldn't even run other apps so this feels like a huge upgrade. I know there are other better phones out there but this is a pretty decent phone for its price.
