Nokia 6 front cam is very capable but in low light its a bit darker, why? Even a jio phone is better than nokia 6 in low light.

the battery is very bad, it runs down fast even when not in use. when i switch off my phone, on putting it on the battery life reduces by 30%. when using the phone it is always hot..i really regret buying nokia 6

- has Autofocus (even manual Autofocus, like wtf)
- has HDR
- has full manual controls (shutter speed, iso, wb)
- can shoot in RAW (this is seriously crazy)
So, yeah it's very capable. Its dynamic range is better than the main camera imo. But you'll have to fiddle a bit (no need to root though thanks Goodness)

Shooting in RAW takes almost the same time (with manual camera app), but after taking a few photos continuously it doesn't take photos for about a second. This is a common limitation for shooting in RAW even for DSLRs.
The RAW doesn't process, it just saves. (well that is a type of processing but I think you understand)
I haven't used Google camera app. But all I can say is, the processing on the stock camera app is very mature. It doesn't go overboard with the processing like samsung devices, very minimal smudging or oversharpening. Also, there's support for RAW so you can process your important photos any way you want.
RAW files will be the same for a particular device regardless of any app you use. It depends mostly on the hardware.
I recommend three camera apps for Nokia 6 -
Stock camera (default)
Manual camera (paid - 2.5$, but this is super good)
And open camera (for manual controls during video)
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I've been testing out its camera a lot and working with its dng files in Adobe Lightroom on pc.

I've shot many photos in RAW on the Nokia 6 and the result is quite interesting. It shoots .dng files about 40 MB each. The dynamic range is extremely wide, about 2x that of jpegs. But lots of noise to work with.
The most light sensitive options rise to 1/14s - 6400 iso in stock camera manual mode, 0.6s - 1600 iso (far superior) in camera2 api.
Camera2 api doesn't require root. Support is present in stock rom (level 3 , which is highest).
The weirdest part is, the Front Camera can also shoot in RAW (wtf), the dng files range from 10 - 15 MB. You can take the ultimate selfies with RAW files. hell yeah.
