I just bought this phone, and think its very nice for the price. However, I'm having difficulty getting new ringtones. Apparantly, this phone doesn't have a Composer. So, how can I change the tempo of downloaded ringtones??

Nokia 6030 mobile is probably good but i think its shape is different like sony ercisson.but this mobile's battery timing is not so good like nokia 3120.may b people like this shape.
i also just use Nokia sets not use other's company sets.but 1 thing is that in this model no Infarred, no GPRS, its no good.
Company should b keep in it these things, otherwise no any advantage to use this set at least.

Sharon, you can adjust the earpiece volume during a call using the left/right navigation keys. I actually found out about it by searching this "forum" a few days ago. It doesn't appear to be mentioned in the manual at all. I found that the setting is kept even after switching off the phone, thankfully.
digiboy, thanks for your suggestions re the backlight issue. So far I've just used the navigation keys, but it hasn't eliminated the annoyance, and several times the input has done stuff I didn't want.

How do I change the volume for the handset, not the ringing but for the volume of the actual call?

Terry, I think the safest button to press to bring the backlight back on is the master on-off button on top of the handset. Gently tapping this button seems to only call up the switch off/profile menu if the display is already in standby. Failing that, use the navigation Left or Right keys - these seem to have no effect in many screen modes.

Terry, I understand your point. Unfortunately, I have no practical suggestion. The only way I know to keep the backlight on without activity is while charging - check Settings - Enhancement Settings - Charger - Lights - On.

digiboy, thanks for the response, but that sets the length of idle time before the screen saver kicks in (at the home screen at least - it isn't activated at all if you're in a menu).
Basicaly, the backlight switches off after about 14 seconds of no input, and you can barely see anything in the screen. If you press a button, it will not only reactivate the backlight, but send the key's input to whatever is on the screen that you can't see! I can try to "guess" what button will be safest based on my recollection of what I was doing last, but it's annoying having to pause and guess instead of just being able to switch on the backlight so I can see exactly what mode the phone is in _before_ I send any input.

Terry, you can set how long the backlight stays on after your last keypress under Settings - Display Settings - Screensaver - Timeout.

Choice of ring tones is awfal. Why can't I just have a regular ring ring style tone and not the electronic stuff that it comes with.
