Does this phone have a port for normal earphones? like the 2.5mm ones? not exactly sure what it's called, but it's the common port found for computers and mp3 players.

I've been reading the posts and i was wondering, are there any other USB cables aside from Nokia Connectivity Cable DKU-2 which are compatible with this phone? I don't want to spend heaps on a cable, but my parents dont want me to use ebay because they have a great distrust of the internet.

I will have to disagree with you regarding the winging part my friend. You see, I spent $600 for k750i and now the phone useless because of the joystick. I have every reason to be upset for the smallest reason! $AU600 is a lot of money for a phone especially for me! That is $600 in the bin my friend!
This time I decided not to spend so much money on a phone and also get Nokia instead of SE which is the best brand in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, the Nokia 6085 is a GREAT phone but I seriously think the theme designers did a very bad job. Don't you agree the white text on light gray background is a bad color combination? I dare you to disagree!
As far as the low ringing volume, it's a software glitch because when you play the file, it is pretty loud which means the speaker IS powerful but I found the cure.
I "applified" the volume my self on my PC on a nice ring-tone wave file and and I put it back on the phone :D Same with SMS. So now the ringing is "extra" loud :) I want to be able to hear it in a noisy environment such as a shopping centre.
Oh yes guess what :)
I don't have to buy a USB data cable for Nokia 6085 :) Why? Well I use my k750 is an interface. The k750 came with the USB cable and the software to so first I put it on k750 and then you bluetooth it on Nokia 6085 :) Of course I hurt my fingers when I press the joystick but I get there.

good phone for that price, it sells here for about 75$ without any operator, + 15$ for 1Gb miniSD + 10$ for nokia stereo headfones (it comes with mono, one headset phone)...it is cheap, camera quality is VGA, so picture quality is bad in comparison with others(but if has many picture efects that are very nice and on the pc pictures come better out than on the 6600), batery life about 2 days with 40 minutes/day talkt and about 3h/day music, it can record video (bad quality but still...) unlimited (i but in the 1Gb and it show that it can record for 3h and some minutes...it can have advantages), it has 2 displays...bluetooth,infra, in general my opinion is that this phone is wort the money.

@ CHRISTOPHE: It's not a smart phone. smart nokia phones are the larger ones that run on an operating system; Symbian OS. the smallest smart phone is the 5500, but it is not like the bigger ones, exteriorwise. If you're looking for a smart phone, flip or folding type, 6290 and N75, but they're pricey.

Good phone overall except for one thing.
GSMARENA, PLEASE do not delete this and play fair. I am not offending anyone.

Ok nothing serious and don't let this disappoint you because it is only one "con" but I make it sound serious because I am upset.
Ok here we go!
Even a 5 year old kid will create a better theme then the default one. Check this:
In certain sections you have all these "bright" colors, very bright-gray with font color "white". What the sugar??? What were they thinking? Are their brains working or what? I am serious and not happy! The text is almost-literally unreadable UNLESS you highlight the menu item. This is due to "white" text on very "bright" almost white background. Of course I can change the themes but I have to spend another $70 for a USB cable or pay heavy download fees for WAP.
You try using the other default ones included and you will realise they are a JOKE!! They are so bad that when you try to highlight a menu, you get lost and you don't know what is the highlighted item and what is the normal item because of too many similar colors.
You try getting another (some better theme like the one included in 6230i) from another phone and you get "This theme is copyrighted" WHAT THE?? So NOOO, I am stuck with the stupid default themes for now. I have to use WAP or spend another $70 for a USB cable to download some decsent themes.
Next:
The ringing volume is a bit softish. You can easily miss a call because of soft ringing volume and soft vibration but this is the case with most phones as far as I know.
No other cons except for bad camara but I don't need a camara. I need a phone!

[GOOD]
- The handset has a pretty loud speaker unlike my crappy k750i (phone for kids).
- Reception wise: Very good reception so far unlike the worst phone in the world: k750i
- Messaging: Very consistennt lining. Each line starts from character one unlike the crappy k750i -- sometimes with k750i when you go to the next line it becomes like this:
E.g:
Line 1 Text
Line 2 Text
Line 3 Text
and with 6085 it is all good:
Line 1 Text
Line 2 Text
Line 3 Text
No stupid joystick unlike the crappiest phone ever created in the history of this planer "k750i" where I spent $600 and it is literally useless and out of warranty due to the fact that the joystick does *NOT* work.
- Very good and solid design and material - unlike the bad k750i - You press k750i and you can hear cracking noises.
- No cracking noises through the speakers when playing mp3s unlike k750i
