I have a black 6101 and I adore it! It´s beautyful! The camera was better than I hoped and the radio is fine! About the memory, its not so interesting when it´s so easy to connect to a computer and download pics etc.
Best regards!

"Johnny 1989" you're searching too far for the "Grid/list"-option...
From the standby screen, press "Menu".
When you see the list of menu, press the top-left key. In there you can change the list/grid view.

Hi
I have got the phone & I am really pleased with it however I have a few probs with it:
*Mark says that you can change the menu to grid settings however on mine it goes the following:
Menu>setting>main display> and I can select from : wallpaper, screensaver, power saver, colour schemes, idle state font colour, operator logo. But no mention of menu view
* I cant seem to get my GPRS to work it says I need to subscribe to it but how?

To be honest even if it's only slightly better than the 6610i I will purchase it.
The design did attract me to it & the new screen & better camera quality (even though not much better but improvement over 6610i)is enought to sway me as I only really use mine for calls, texting & th eodd picture taking.
One final question, with the 6610i the images taken had a kind of "fish eye" lens so any straight lines on the picture would curve inwards, doe sthis happen on the 6101?

>> The camera of the Nokia 6101 is slightly better than the Nokia 3200 (from CIF to VGA-quality). But still you can't zoom before taking a picture. Only afterwards.
>> The Nokia 6610i quite a good mobile, the 6101 doesn't really "upgrade" your old 6610i, but the pro's of taking the 6101 over your old 6610i are:
- bigger & better screen;
- better polyphonic sounds (mp3 = bad);
- camera is also slightly better (CIF to VGA-quality);
So if you like the 6101 design (which is incomparable with the 6610i), you can switch over to that one. The phone isn't really that expensive, a bit comparable with the release of the 6610i back then.
>> The standby time depends on how often you make calls, listen to radio, etc. ofcourse; but I ussually charge my phone every 3 days.

To Mark or whoever else has this phone.
Is it better than the Nokia 6610i (which is my current phone) & I'm not about just looks, in general
The cheapest I have seen is in Argos on o2 for £129.99 pay as you go but that is in white only, dearest over here: Carphone Warehouse, sim free £199.99.
However I'm sure Carphone Warehouse can do better deals that that :^D
So would you guys recommended it for someone who has an ageing 6610i (I have had the 6610i since July 2004 so it has served me well)

Katie:
If you're at the shop to buy the Nokia 6101. Ask to see them both, before buying. I did and compared the black and white version at the counter.
My decision was eventually the black one. I'm sure if you put them next to each other, you can easily make a decision.
Goodluck!

Nice post Mark.
It is true, ONLY the mp3's sound bad.
Radio, polyphonic ringtones are good!

I like the phone but there are certain sound problems, sound cracks often.Sound hearing volume is also low so it would say the simple nokia models like 3510i are excellent compared to all this new shit.
To whoever asked:
yes you can take a photo and place it as your wallpaper.
The battery is excellent.
